If styling doesn't matter how do you explain this...

Re: If styling doesn\'t matter how do you explain this... Actually SRT10 and Mike both make good points. Standard issue Corvettes sell more and have a different demographic. IMHO, that's why Dodge intentionally mellowed out the outrageous look of the snake to try to snare away some Corvette...

Went to New York to see SRT today... got some new info too!

I believe the SRT will be 9" wider..almost like that Aerosmith song...oh, never mind....but 9" is supposedly the number.

    viper school in florida?

If you don't mind coming down to W. Palm Beach, the Justin Bell & co (justinbell.com) have a program at Moroso which formerly had Vipers and now "unfortunately" uses Corvettes. They have a 1, 2, and 3 day program which they are also running at Homestead in June & August. Ask for a VCA (10%)...

License Plate Poll: Keep it or Change it

Great plate (though almost 15 seconds elapsed until I figured there was no BLOB in there).

1999 ACR Viper on Ebay about to be sold for $56000

No offense to the ACR owners (those BBS wheels are especially fantastic), but it seems that the package doesn't bring too much of a premium after a few years. Miles are probably more meaningful, IMHO.

Price of Vipers taking a dip?

Just sold my mint-ish (5500 miles, both tops, smoothies, K&Ns, MGW goodies, 7yr/75k miles DC extended warranty) 2000 RT/10 for $58k. Would've certainly held out for more $$$ but my '02 final ed was en route. Believe the buyer of my car got a good deal and I got the same from John Gastman at...

    Milky Wheels???

Never had any problems on my early model year 2000. On day one I did the whole Zaino thing twice to the whole car including wheels (wash, polish lok, polish, spray stuff, polish, spray...yada, yada, yada...) and never got milk. Was always amazed how easy dust came off of them and I very rarely...

Sub {{{{WOOFER}}}} in a GTS. Looking for answers

If you thought the sound in a GTS leaves a lot to be desired , try an RT/10 . I can't believe the sonic improvement is so significant in the coupe. Now if I can only find a way to put my VPI JR turntable into the snake...ANALOG (sound) RULES!

No More Luxury Tax: Starting in 2003

Great reason to try to put off that SRT delivery a few months! Dealers generally know the rules but today my local tag agency tried to charge me state sales tax not just on my new Viper but on the luxury tax too. Wrong! Luckily I caught this and educated them.

OMG OMG OMG!!!! MY FINAL EDITION IS HERE!!!!!!

Congrats! You'll love it! Just got my final ed today, (shameless plug upcoming) courtesy of John Gastman of Roanoke Motors and my hard earned cash. Wish I lived about 1500 miles closer to them; a 5-star dealer in every way. Now I gotta break out the Zaino, get all my MGW goodies again...and...

VIPER to be delivered VERY soon...ADVICE???

Definitely ditch the cue ball shifter (but save it somewhere especially since the 360 final ed have that unique red stitching) While you're ordering the MGW shifter (mgwltd.com), if you want to do some minor interior trim upgrades, take a look at their a/c knobs...

POLL... If you have ordered an SRT-10...

'00 RT/10: "Sold" but awaiting my buyer's arrival next week '02 Final ed: Expected in 2 weeks & will be kept a long time '03 SRT: Will only be kept if it blows my socks off (and if I find 9" of extra garage width to dedicate)

    01 or 02 gts

In the classifieds on this site, I noticed just a few weeks ago, there was a new '01 GTS listed by a dealer in OK who was asking $66,500. Also, if you want great knowledge, no pressure, good prices and want to deal with a VCA site sponsor, large Viper volume, 5-star dealer, don't forget to call...

Why my ACR shocks do NOT rattle.

I'm sure JonB could fill me in as to whether the YEAR actually MATTERS but I did test drive an '02 ACR last week and there was no rattle.

Is this the SRT as defined by Webster?

Part Chinese, part Dutch, Canada's best non-hockey asset is Kristin Kreuk, 19, "Lana" of the WB network's Smallville series (Superman as a high school kid) and co-starring in the remake of family flick Snow White. Can't we all get along and agree she's a real beauty whether in an RT/10, GTS...

Is this the SRT as defined by Webster?

quote:
Originally posted by Mike Brunton: Jeff, The flaw in your logic is that the sales of GTS Vipers started falling off in 2000... the car only came out in late '96 (to a VERY limited audience) - so if they are having problems...

Is this the SRT as defined by Webster?

Mike, I'd be fascinated to see the market research that was done. Not to throw stones at DC, but Detroit has had some doozies either in sales, quality or safety (Chevy Vega/Pontiac Astre, Ford Pinto, AMC Pacer, to name just a few) presumably all happened with some degree of market research...

Is this the SRT as defined by Webster?

Hey Chris, I thought your post made for pretty good reading but as someone with an SRT on order I can tell you that I'm not at all insulted by the negative SRT comments I've seen...I may have even posted a couple.... It's all a matter of perspective, but I take most of the anti-SRT postings as...

    whats up with these warrantees?

Believe extended warranty cost goes up after vehicle is a certain age (more info on Dodge website including a link to their extended warranties and a toll free phone number). If you live in snowy area/won't drive it year round, don't pay for too many miles on the warranty. Also keep in mind that...

    Stereo Component Recomendations?

Not sure if it is still being made & supported, but there is a unit called the Alpine Mobile MayDay HCX-B200A with a GPS that, in addition to navigation usage, ties into their alarm system so you could be notified if your car was stolen (involves a monthly monitoring fee, believe it was...

    whats up with these warrantees?

Just to add to any confusion there might be, Dodge has been running a promotion recently (see their website) of a powertrain-only 7 year 100,000 mile free warranty to new car buyers thru May 31st. It is NOT as extensive as an extended warranty as it is powertrain only. It is subject to a $100...
