Paint Bubbles are back after almost a year.

That could be my problem. Now that it is very cold out = bubbles came back. Prior to having it painted, the bubbles would show often after a wash = Cold and wet.

Paint Bubbles are back after almost a year.

Many of the Viper Gen II owners have “Paint Bubbles”. This topic has been discussed over and over. I had my hood repainted about 11 months ago. No problems until now. The bubbles are back. I did not sand down to the fiberglass. I will this time. I know that I need to sand completely down and...

    What Model Year Is Worst...?

I am amazed at how many people basically say “If the pistons are a concern, just swap them out”. What? They make it sound like you can do it on your lunch break. It’s a major task. Most people that purchase a ROE SC, Paxton or Nitrous package never want to replace the pistons. Sure some of...

    What Model Year Is Worst...?

Agreed... 2000 always comes up as the least desirable year. Mild cam, no forged pistons, no ABS. The only thing that helps save this year is the popularity of the Steel Gray color. This is based on the car, not the appearance. For bad looks I would say 95 Emerald green and the Ronald McDonald...

How much stress does a dyno put on a car ?

The Dyno definitely puts more stress on a car than street driving. That rotating drum has resistance and it is putting a load on your mechanicals. Since your tires are not spinning, your entire drive train is under stress. Most shops would never consider allowing a customer to Dyno their own...

    Random High Idle / Sticking Idle - <master thread>

Re: Random High Idle / Sticking Idle - <master thread> Greetings, Is my problem fixed? After installing the $4 part, my problem went away. But it did come back ONE time in two months. So I am not ready to say if the fix is 100% yet, but it has been 2 months! My problem is...

1998 Viper GTSR On Ebay !

JP, That is the first thing I thought of... GTSR on ebay? I still like the GT2 Vipers and I want one. They are the Viper to own. But when you think about the production number...100 is not that low. If you own one... the price will stay high if you don't drive it. So I will still need to keep...

What are your thoughts on an 39 mile B&W ?

YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!! 2 to 3k miles will KILL a collector car. Heck, the 39 miles on this car hurt it a little. If it had the original 8 to 12 miles from the factory, it would be worth more. Guys, you can not compare a car with a "few thousand" miles to this car. They are no longer the same...

    What's my 98 GTS worth?

Re: What\'s my 98 GTS worth? Depends on how clean the car is. I looked at a 98 with 6k miles on it. After seeing the car, I would have guessed 40k miles. The seller claimed it was "Perfect". Wrong. So if the car is average.... $43k If the car is Perfect....$52k (By my standards)...

Need help in Kansas...Car Inspection and Transport

George, I don't think you want me to look at the car since most of the Vipers I inspect....well lets just say I am a little picky. What's the story on this car?

    Resetting Alarm-VSTSS is missing???

Email them to me if you like. You could manually touch the wires until you get a replacement cylinder.

    Resetting Alarm-VSTSS is missing???

You can try this: Leave the battery connected and disconnect your Entry Module and re-connect. This will reset the module. The entry module is next to the gas pedal under the dash. Held on by a rubber strap. It is made by DEI. I am a little concerned that the key overide is missing. Maybe...

    Random High Idle / Sticking Idle - <master thread>

Re: Random High Idle / Sticking Idle - <master thread> There was another post about Air Conditioning problems. The issue was that vacuum was being lost from the manifold from a “one way” check valve in the dash ventilation system. This would cause the dash vents to close during...

    Random High Idle / Sticking Idle - <master thread>

Re: Random High Idle / Sticking Idle - <master thread> IAC and TPS did NOT fix the problem. I took one Viper Tech for three laps around the KS Speedway. Came into the pits and the idle was stuck at 1200 RPM. I went back out on the Speedway with another tech. Three laps...into the pits...

    Vipers vs ZO6 General Concerns

The Z06 project has been on “paper” for a long time. When I was at VOI 8 in Texas, I brought up the ZO6 at the Viper Tech Sessions held in the banquet rooms. I voiced my concern that on paper, the ZO6 appears to be faster than a Viper. Now the Z06 is hitting the street…as it appeared on paper...

Looked at a 2001 GTS, almost.

I would have to agree with you. If you did not pay for it, you would be more likely to abuse it. But once the next guy buys it....the history of the "rental" days will have passed. Unless you purchase a new car......

Had one hell of a time at Southwest Zone Rendezvous!!!

This event was more like a VOI than a Zone Rendezvous. The Drag Strip was REAL slow. They were brushing and applying VHT but we could not hook up. It was just too darn hot out. Cars running 12.3 last year could not break into the 12's at all this day. All the times were slow. We had so many...

    Random High Idle / Sticking Idle - <master thread>

Re: Random High Idle / Sticking Idle - <master thread> Jack B is correct, vacuum leak would be constant. My problem would come and go. That is the reason I never suspect a mechanical problem. A sticking throttle cable is easy to diagnose. Just push on the linkage and see if the idle...

    K&N Filter warning

I have been attempting to find a problem with "Sticking Idle". One of my questions was "Are you running K&N filters? Some of the guys replied "what does that have to do with it". My concern was that the oil might have contaminated a sensors.

Kansas City Viper Club all get tickets! <Common Criminals>

On Friday nights the Kansas City Viper Club likes to meet at Dean and Delucas for dinner and then head over to Sheridan’s for some Ice Cream. Sheridan’s is a nice place to talk cars and meet many of the younger people into the car hobby. So the Viper Club arrives at Sheridan’s. We park in the...
