“a Nod Is As Good As A Wink To A Blind Acrx Horse”

^^It's no secret that the "Chrysler Gods" maintained lower crank HP numbers to the media. All Viper generations hold much higher RWHP numbers then the stock crank HP numbers suggest.

Talk me down off the ledge

Convertibles in general don't favor well in above average hot temperatures. Having the sun beat down on you in 85+ degree temps. can be uncomfortable for any convertible driver/owner. Changing, not fixing, the exhaust setup will not only delete 85% of the Vipers interior heat temperature...

My first track day ...I want more... advice appreciated

Wow, I'm impressed! Although, your previous Gen IV was more then capable. Using an ACR is comparable to an eye Doctor completing a Lasik procedure. It's a very advanced vehicle, with more then half the owners never experiencing 100% of it's potential. Hell, I'm not even close in my Gen III...

Interesting ZR1 & ACR talk on corvetteforum

There have only been a few recorded 9 second runs, all of which have more then $1,500 in modification cost. Lingenfelter's setup uses a different cam, S/C pulley, larger coolent setup for the intercooler, clutch, exhaust etc. Same goes with LMR's setup! All of which cost WAY over $1,500.

Interesting ZR1 & ACR talk on corvetteforum

Heatsoak is overrated,? Heat soak effects any vehicle, whether on a 1/4 mile track and or a road course. Contrary to your belief, heat soak does and is proven to get worse the longer an engine stays hot and or the inability for an intercooler to cool itself. Intercooler...

    11.08 @ 132.7 in the ACR and run against a GT-R

That's a shame! I'm a Viper lover, like many on this forum, however I wouldn't pass up on a foreign vehicle that I had an interest in just because it wasn't American made. Just to be clear, I'm an America lover too, :usa::2tu:! Great video footage as well! At those trap speeds, are you...

    mid engine viper picture

I'd have to agree myself that the ACR has set the bench mark for many other brands. In all fairness though, the ACR does have some slight advantages due to it's amazing downforce numbers via front splitter and rear wing. Also, R compound tires send the ACR into another realm. This is seen...

    ACR as a daily driver?

Lol, maybe the Palisades tomorrow morning around 5-6! I'm definitly with you on having fun Tom, I thought I would just share my thoughts on DDing these cars. They are fun none the less, however the respected owner decides to use them, :headbang:!

    Bad Vibration

Glad to hear man! Don't let it get you down, in all honesty, Viper's of all generations are actually really good vehicles. Needless to say, your issue wasn't one that was caused by faulty or poorly made equipment. Little animals/critters will make their way into anything. If your Viper is...

buying 2009 ACR with repair needed... any insight?

You can get a front splitter on the Roeracing website for $8,000 and I'm sure Jon B can get one for cheaper! What he said, Jon B has the parts bin to rebuild an ACR thirty times over, he will take care of you.

    mid engine viper picture

I'm not sure, mid-engine vehicles are acclaimed for balance in and out of turns. According to designers, front engine vehicles are at a disadvantage having weight pushing into a turn directly above the steer tires. Similar to a Porsche 911 design however in reverse order. Many say the design...

Interesting ZR1 & ACR talk on corvetteforum

Larger supply of outside air via cooling ducts, :dunno:! The ZR1 has the same front fascia as the ZO6 and Grand Sport. Doesn't seem GM made any additional openings of any sort to allow fresh, cooler outside air to enter the engine compartment in aiding such intercooler heat soak.

Congrats to you and your new Viper! It's a shame how it left it's previous owner however I'm sure he would have wanted it to go to another Enthusiast such as yourself. My thoughts and prayers go to the family of Josh! -Sal

Viper logo-The little guy got me

Seems like coincidence, lol! Can't see too many Viper designers that had Daffy on their mind during the Gen. 3 logo redesign.
