This issue seems to have been swept under the carpet.....I know that Fast Eddie had BOTH his side windows replace by the dealer and the paint buffed out. Sadly it was HIS out of pocket expense even though he had promises of having it taken care of under warranty. He never got reimbursement.

I helped install the pv on a 97 some time ago and did not have any issues.

Use a proper size drift pin to "drive" the pin out. Pin will only come out one direction, towards the center of the car.
After the first pin is out the metal spreader clip will come right out.
I would NOT use grease on your pads ! They will get very hot and the grease will melt and...

Torque values:
Front mounting bracket to spindle 8mm allen head torque to 45 ft lbs
Front mounting to bracket to spindle tabs (original mounting) 10 mm allen head torque to 85 ft lbs
Front Caliper to bracket torque...
I did not use any thread locker on mine...... over 4 years now and no issues.
If you have Loctite Red, that stuff is great IF YOU DON'T WANT TO TAKE IT APART without an extreme amount of muscle, heat and patience. If you use anything, I would say a small dab of Loctite Blue.

As long as the bracket fits flush on the backside and the bolts thread in WITHOUT and binding, you are fine. If there is a gap between the bracket and the spindle, it really doesn't matter, as the stregnth is not dependent on the bracket getting support from spindle in that area...
Kelly, I don't know who is worse off...your Yellow or my White when it comes to tire marks.
After track days, I find that it is easier to pull the side sill completely off. Then I can stand up and clean them on my bench. My side sills have clear bra on them, so technically you are not...
