    Any Issues or Recalls with 08

    My Viper was built in April 08 and the only issue I had was that the clutch needed to be bled. I've been on some 1000+ mile trips without a hiccup. If your clutch is good when the car gets hot, then I think you are good to go!

    Vett vs. viper

    If you go with a Gen III Viper, budget in a Gen IV exhaust system (no crossover) and a set of the non-run flat tires. Guys who modded their Gen IV exhaust system already may sell you their factory system for a good price.

    Electrical Problem on '08 Viper?

    I've heard the feedback you describe during shutdown. I can't remember any dings. Sounds like the dings are a separate issue. The feeback is from the audio amp shutting down in my opinion and I have not considered it a problem.

    broken half shaft more bad luck.... or driving

    All Gen4 Vipers built from mid April 2008 have the solid shafts. I would love to know what the starting VIN is of the change over. Anyone know? Can you tell by looking at the shafts which type the car has?
