    Unimpressive GTS Auction

Could not have said it any better Bill. Many do not understand the diference between a "collector grade" GTS, a driver GTS, and a track rat. They just want the "look". The true collector grade cars, all or mostly stock, with single digit mileage, original paint, will absolutely ALWAYS hold...

Viper as a gift for the wife.

go for it... But an 04 SRT is no slouch..... It will bite... Make sure she understands the car, and how it operates. The throttle should be NO MORE than 50% down, during at least the first 6-12 mo. of ownership. And the rear ends of these cars, are as light as a pickup truck.. Those wide tires...

    2002 Final Edition GTS

Front facia has absolutely been redone. But I'd say a solid 70% of all Gen2's have had this done. Even if the owner believes otherwise. Its not a terrible thing. As long as it was just from rock scrapes, and/or curb bumps

new guy and 99 Viper GTS in VA

carfax and autocheck might not be god. But the value of that car IS ABSOLUTELY dimminished by what that report says. No question about it.. Seriously dimminished.

Would you support a V8 Viper?

I dont think it will happen either.. But if it did, I would support it. Weight savings IS horsepower.

Would you support a V8 Viper?

To me, the word "viper" willl always be the Gen.1-Gen.2 Cars.. Ive owned a Gen.3 and it IS a fabulous car(better than a Gen2 in many, many ways). But the definition of "Viper" (to me, anyway) will always be the clamshell hood, and the curves. They just got everything "right" with that car, and I...

paint could use a correction. So plan on $500 for that, to someone who knows that they are doing. But it will look like glass, when done

Still waiting for my 2010 Graphite ACR

That is a bit insane. That, and the floors mats being part of the protection group option. Although my 1997 GTS still has its original manual wrapped in plastic. So apparently, there is nothing in there, me and the 2 previous owners dont know :-)

    They totaled my Viper today

Honestly, they will likely be able to show in court 47k was a fair offer for the car. I would take it.

buying 2009 ACR with repair needed... any insight?

it only moved 3 grand.. It was at 47k pre auction bidding. you were pre-bid? The ONLY way that car made sense at $50k. Is if, ALL it needs is what you see. (i.e., fender, fender well, rad. support, tower, bumper, hood repaired.) But if there is more than meets the eye (which Im 99% sure there...

buying 2009 ACR with repair needed... any insight?

yup. I expected it to go, for 50-low 50's.. I would have paid 40k for the car. But apparently so would a few others, have paid that amount.. LOL. Did you bid? kilr or Jpa ?

    Considering selling...........

who ever was lucky enough to have bought a new 08-09 in early-mid 2009. Has probably driven the car almost for free. The car is still probably worth what you paid, because those deals are gone!!!

buying 2009 ACR with repair needed... any insight?

I agree.. The ad is pretty clear. But I can see how he will get a lot of negative feedback doing it that way. You get prospective buyers all hot and heavy, thinking they got an ACR for $30k. Then tell them, the price is now $60k (or whatever it ends up at). Take it, or take your deposit back...

    Considering selling...........

same... maybe 1-2 grand more just for warranty time, but not much. The big spead in prices are by Gen.#

buying 2009 ACR with repair needed... any insight?

I think the reason this car will go for good money, is. Its an ACR... Someone will fix it up and track it.. Salvage title will not kill value as you'd think on this car.. And its a great color combo.. Those bumpers and fenders crack easy, so thats an easy fix. But Im certain there is some...

buying 2009 ACR with repair needed... any insight?

Did you really think you were getting the car for $30k? The parts on it, are worth more than that.. Yes, of course it IS a salvage title. Nothing shows on carfax, YET... it will post at some point.

buying 2009 ACR with repair needed... any insight?

The person who listed on Ebay, clearly states he doesnt own it. It clearly says you will have the option to bid up the market price, at get deposit refunded. I will also be bidding on this car. :-). I agree, It will probably go for more than its worth. GREAT color combo though.

    Junkman...have you used this product??

Maybe junkman can chime in. But The best towels for paint I have EVER used (by far), are the Zaino Blonde, border free towels. Not cheap, but the best... they also sell good microfiber towels at costco in large packs. Im sure you've seen them (the yellow ones). I use these sometimes on the...

2003 Painted Purple in 2003... What does that do to price???

Anytime a car has had a full repaint. the question "why" needs to be asked. 99.9% of the time, its because the car was hit. And during the rebuild they decided on a different color.. There are a few brave people who I'm sure have had perfect cars repainted just for a change. But they are very few.
