My commute is only 3.5 miles on one 55 mph highway, no lights, no stop signs. Teach college... faculty parking is pretty safe. It gets about equal time with my 130,000+ miles Ford Escape. Take Escape in rain or when I have a night class.
Always one like me??? If you mean I am different from you...thanks for the compliment. The T-shirt is snobby. Also had many vettes...much prefer the viper but wouldn't down the vette or folk that have them. That's a form of snobbery. Also your need to explain how you purchase vehicles by cash...
Had an 02 GTS and now a Gen III. Likely get a Gen IV before considering anything else. Still, going out of your way to piss off a group of vette folk is weak and lame, and definitely reveals some unresolved issues. Maybe Ferraris were built so that Viper guys could have heroes?
Pricing above 130K will turn some people off. It will also turn some on. Some folk are attracted by a higher price. It keeps out the riff-raff. It helps to ensure exclusivity and has nothing to do with value. In the rarified atmosphere of the supercar, many are more prestige conscious than...
My 2006 mustang ran 10.00 at 136 mph in the 1/4, with a 76mm turbo and 22 lbs boost (sold to speed shop 2011). You can make any car do almost anything. But there are more than 1/2 million S197s out there. There were more S197s spawned in the first 3 months of 2007, than all the vipers since...
On racetrack, where every other car has one, fits in with the rest. Huge wing on a street car looks silly. It's a viper...doesn't need any help to look or go fast with extra pieces of plastic stuck on here and there.
Well there you go mate...at least there's some utility in the thing after...
Possible....but I stay away from anything to do with special editions. Every automaker uses this marketing strategy particularly at the end of a production run (between models etc). Certainly would not pay an extra penny for one. My viper does not need to be 1 of 1 to make me happy.
Very enjoyable video, excellent quality audio as well. Nicely done on the run. At first, I thought maybe you were bracket racing and were handicapped versus other vehicle.
I had an 02 gts, before my 06 coupe (stock). The 06 is noticeably faster (acceleration) than the 02. I bought the 06 coupe (local purchase with known history) in November 2010 with 4048 miles for $48500.
Bought an 06 coupe with 4048 miles a year ago. Paid around $2000 for extended warranty. Had to replace driver's side window regulator or something, 2 weeks ago (window jammed in down position). Invoice was around $800 with labor. Only asked to pay the $50 deductable. I'm happy.
Sounds like something a ***** would say
Often heard the viper being called the poor man's Ferrari.
You mean like quite a few of the posts in this thread.
I am totally disinterested in street racing, so have no experience with Z06s. Visiting the corvette forum, I find some folk claim they easily beat srt10s under varying racing conditions on the street. Anybody have a different view?
I park with the car in reverse and handbrake on. I notice sometimes that upon releasing handbrake and starting to reverse, the car faulters as if the handbrake was still applied. I go into neutral, back to reverse a couple of times and the feeling of resistance goes away.
Anybody else...
The stang is headed for low 9s. At 135+ traps, need a cage. The interior of the stang, that I bought new in 06, had been gutted along with the rest of the car. My viper is not going anywhere near a dragstrip or dyno machine for that matter...lol. It's just fine 100% stock.
