It not so much the products, it's your technique that matters most. The same applies to paint correction too. I don't know when I'll get to that video.
In this video, I talk about and show the process of properly removing vinyl decal lettering. This process applies to any vinyl decals whatsoever, as long as the vinyl decal has not been baked onto the car for 10 years. After that amount of time, much more aggressive measures may be necessary. I...
I'm a detailing whore. I get around. :D
It's a shame to hear about some of the better known brands going by the wayside. I've spoken with the Avery top dogs and they definitely know the business. It sounds as if profit margins are starting to rule the mindset at some of these places. Too bad.
Thank you for posting your background. I like to know where a guy is coming from when he has a strong opinion that sounds as if he is part of the industry. It definitely adds weight to your opinion. :)
Why do you say that 3M is bad? Are you an installer with experience working with 3M clear bra's, or any other film? If so, how many years experience do you have? Website?
it's a whole lot more work than I care to do anytime and that's why I don't do it for a living. I've been working on this car for over 3 weeks but it is finally coming together. I do love making black paint sparkle though.
Like I said in the video, you should NEVER use a gas powered leaf blower to dry your car. The exhaust from the blower will land all over your paint. That cannot be helped. It's just like using a rattle can to spray something outside of your garage with the doors open. The over-spray that floats...
In this video, I cover all there is to know about claying, where to buy it, what it is, how it's used and what it is used for. In paint correction, there is no more an important process than claying. Claying is the foundation of an outstanding shine and skipping this step WHEN NECESSARY is...
Everyone that I have heard from that has tried one has said that they don't hold a charge long and that they are no where near as powerful. I wouldn't buy one.
And that is why I posted a link to Metro's website so that you guys could compare prices among all the vendors, and maybe find a vendor close to you. There are definitely some shady folks out there. However, you will be happy with that unit. I am very happy with mine. Just remember, your paint...
Good to see all of you guys chime in. Let me reinforce some of my main points about the Master Blaster that I made in that video.
The Master Blaster is by far the better machine with its key features (heated and filtered air, quiet, moves lots of air, easier to maneuver, dual speed and built...
In this video, I talk about the pros and cons of both the Air Force Master Blaster by Metro, and a standard electric leaf blower. I give the insight that I have from using both devices for a few years. You may find my conclusion surprising so kick your feet up and hear my take.
One thing...
I agree. Time and heat will eventually take their toll but the OP's motor mounts look like they've been through more than just wear, tear and heat. Something else went on there, considering the miles on his Viper.
I'm not buying that at all. I have a 500Hp, 450Fpt 383 stroker with 11:1 compression in my daily driver. I drive the living hell out of that car and my motor mounts are fine going on 4 years. I've torn up my fair share of other things but definitely not the motor mounts...
I agree, and a cracked motor mount could also be a sign of the car being in a nasty wreck. I fixed my wrecked car in a buddy's garage and if you pull the Carfax on it, you won't see any documentation about the $6000 dollars worth of damage that I fixed.
Okay, two things here. First I was not insulting you. I was treating you like a man. If you go back through all the threads where I answer questions, you'll notice that I treat everyone here like a man. I am a Marine. It is in my blood. So thicken up that skin somewhat and don't take anything...
You remind me of the guy who wants to learn how to play golf so he goes out and buys some golf clubs from Walmart. He heads to the golf course with no training and after 18 holes on a par 70 course, he shoots a 140. After shooting a 141 and 150 over the next 2 visits to the same course, he comes...
How in the world did you miss THIS THREAD? Your answers are in those 2 hours worth of videos so plan your time accordingly. By the way, you don't polish edges. You can't see swirls on an edge. Any area that can't be reach with a machine is polished by hand. There are VERY few areas like that on...
It's like you said, it's pretty straight forward. I figured the wheels are a lot more important that the rubber. It's not like your going to scratch the rubber or anything!
