What makes you think it's going to die? What's it doing? There are lots of aftermarket decks that will look very nice installed, if installed by a good installer.:) Bring your car up to me, I'll install something that looks good and sounds good too.;)

My brother and Mark the owner of the Gen IV Viper at my work both saw this car about a month ago. My brother took a pic w/ his phone to show me.

No clearance issues here. I used a 6 1/2" comp. set from Alpine (SPX-17REF) They fit almost perfect (just a little trimming) and sound really good. :2tu:

My family and I should be there again.:) We will probly bring our normal assortment of 10 to 11 cars  , but of course a couple will be "new" to this show ;) This is my favorite show of the year :2tu: :drive:
I would say build as BIG as you can :) You can NEVER have to much garage space. :nono: I went as big as the city would let me , and it's not even close to being big enough :crazy2:

I used U-Coat-It in my garage, followed All directions, and my floor started peeling up after about three months:mad: It's only peeling on the original "machine finished" smooth part of the floor, but not the areas that I added onto and "hand troweled" the concrete.:( So I would NOT recommend...
'02 GTS $630/year State Farm full coverage, clean record, 33 years old ;)

I looked at THIS car in person (if it's the one I'am thinking of, they have over 20 vipers):D very nice :2tu: the color looks very close to my B5/surf blue challenger :) Congrats :drive:
I used a 8" TREO SSi sub in a custom ported box on the driver side, powered by an Alpine PDX-1.1000 mounted on the pass side along with an Alpine PDX-4.100 to bi-amp my front Alpine type-X 6 1/2" component speakers (no rear speakers), and an Alpine DVD 6-disk changer, also my satellite radio...
I got a second nice used set off fleabay at pretty decent price, may be cheaper than having them recovered. After cutting them open to put monitors in them, I found that under the cloth is a cheap black vinyl/plastic covering.
They don't have a aux in. Really the only way to get audio "into" the factory system is to use a FM modulator of some kind, either wired or wireless. There is another way but it's very complex and involves much more wire cutting and etc. I recommend just replacing the factory deck with a nice...
