Hey man, I'm originally from Pocomoke (South of Salisbury). I'm living in NC now but frequently get back during the summer. Looking to buy this spring/early summer so if it works out, maybe we can meet up for a cruise at the beach. You know of any other Vipers on the shore?
So we are talking about a care issue and not necessarily a paint quality issue? Just trying to clarify. Im guessing any 10 year old car would have some issues (especially black) if not cared for properly.
So you're saying I should be worried about the paint on a 40k car? Not doubting it just curious. I haven't really heard anything about paint issues with the gen3 cars. Educate me.
Honestly tbe auctions have a mind of their own... i think the market on 40k plus car is high thirties being fair... ill see what the dealer is willing to do. I purchased an extremely low mikes Z06 a couple years ago and dropped a valve within 6 months with no track time. Needless to say i can...
Both valid points... Any ideas on a fair offer for a 40k car? if the dealer is firm than I would def hold off and either opt to spend a little more of a lower miles car or wait until another 30-40k car came along with more wiggle room on the price.
Good afternoon all,
Been in the market for a couple months now on the east coast and have come close on a couple but have either not been quick enough or just couldn't work out a deal. My criteria is a gen3, preferably red (then black, silver last) with less than 30k. Price point I have...
Call your insurance agent and get an exact quote or go online and do an automated quote. This will be far more accurate than anybody throwing out numbers. My last car was a 2004 Z06 and I recently got a quote on an 04 viper as I am in the market as well and they were not much different. If it's...
I've been on the hunt recently myself and while my price range is lower (GenIII vert most likely) I've seen plenty of GenIII coupes for less than 65. I know there is at least one on Ebay for 64,xxx w/ under 5k on it. While you might be able to find an 08, I don't know if you'd be able to get one...
I've had a fair amount of experience doing vinyl but i'd say that going over existing stripes would be tough... If you go for an exact fit than it'll be an absolute nightmare to line up and if you go for a little overlap, you could create a sort of ridge in the new vinyl from where it lays over...
All good Neo... Just curious as to what most people did. I'd much prefer vinyl as, like most have stated, it's cheaper and can be removed. If I did it, it would be factory style stripes. Thanks for all the replies guys.

No car yet, on the hunt. Glad to see a good mil/leo representation on the forum!
As stated in some previous posts, I'm considering a gen3 for my next garage addition. I've always been a big fan of the classic striped viper look but my budget is gen3 territory and so a coupe (less a very moderately priced 06) isn't going to happen. My question is fairly simple, if I wanted to...
I think the value discussion hinges on 2 things: What the car was originally worth new, and what dealers are paying on trades. Private party sales factor in for sure, but, IMO there aren't enough people willing to go through the hassle of private party sale (finding a buyer, handling the...
Tom is the one Pirate was talking about. looking for an any gen3 really. Trying to find something for sale semi-close to me so I can test drive but o far no luck.
As my first post stated, I'm considering a Gen3 for my next car. I'm currently at Fort Bragg in NC (fayetteville) but will be moving to Fort Lee (Petersburg/Richmond VA area) in the next 12-15 months. I noticed Pirateviper mentioned a guy in Willmington that handles Vipers. Does anybody have any...
Haha this place a is a damn jungle. I'll be outta here within a year though for CCC... part of the reason I'm not rushing to buy. If anybody else knows anything about the area, it's not really the kind of place to you want to leave a 50k car sitting in the mall parking lot for too long.
My last performance car was a C5Z which I sold when I moved down to Fort Bragg in 2011. I've got the itch again. Considering a couple different options and one of them is a gen3. I grew up utterly taken with the car and even though I have a great appreciation for other domestics, the Viper has...
