    ACR paint issue

I have a black 08 coupe and the paint is absolutely flawless. There is also next to no orange peel.

    Is this a normal sound?

It sounds like the gear lash was never set properly in that diff. Open up the diff. and put a dial on the ring gear to see if the backlash is in spec.

    Has Anyone noticed???

found the same thing on my '08. You can only see it under fluorescent lght, looking at it from an angle.

PIC of Arrow Racing Engine Intake porting

It's just a couple of plastic push pins that hold the deflector in place. Takes about 2 minutes if you've been drinking, 1 minute if you're sober.

    Please Help!!!

If oil starvation was the issue, the bearings will have a bluish to black color, as well as having any melted pieces of metal welded to the bearing. This is caused by extreme heat generated by a lack of lube. Those shells look like they were sanded down by 20 grit sandpaper. Another indicator...

    Please Help!!!

It doesn't look like there are any heat check marking on those bearings. The only culprit would be filings or oil contamination. This is only my opinion, but I'm sure others will agree.

Is it the g*damn clutch safety switch??

Instead of bypassing the safety interlock switch, you could pull out the switch and attach an extension to the plunger. This will still provide you the safety, without having to press the pedal all the way down. I did this to my wife's corvette a number of years ago.

    Stuck valve spring retainer

Compressed air in the cylinder is your best bet for holding the valve up!

Your thoughts.... Buying a 06 or 09 viper

I've got an 08 SRTC, black with silver stripes and 4300 miles on it. I'd like to get an SSG with black or graphite stripes. The SSG's are hard to come by here.

    Looking for new rims!

Thanks for the reply Andy!! I think if you went black chrome for the centres, they would look awesome:2tu:

    Looking for new rims!

Andt, what's the weight of the concave mesh versus stock. It looks like they are a three piece wheel versus a one piece forged. Also, if they are a three piece; can the centres be done with a separate finish? Thanks!

    Amsoil 80W-140 for rear diff?

Both the Amsoil (severe gear only) and the Redline don't require the addition of the slip lock additive due to their synthetic formulations, but if your diff starts to make any clicking noises during turning then the addition of some slip lock additive would be required. I have not needed to...

What are the two plugs at the very bottom of the diff is for?

I agree! You can drain from either one. If you need a diff cooler, one is used for outlet and the other is used for a return.

    Amsoil 80W-140 for rear diff?

I prefer the amsoil severe gear 75/140. But the redline isn't bad either.

    stiffer shocks on GenIV

Does anyone know if there is a way to increase the shock stiffness on an '08? I find that the suspension is a little bouncy for street driving. I like the amount of overall stiffness, but find that the factory compression and rebound settings are too soft. I would like to try avoiding spring...

Anyone in the Calgary area with Belangers?

Hi Ted, I know I've been a little lazy on the membership. Now that work has begun to pick back up, I will be sending out a membership application right away. Would you be able to forward over a Western Canada app. form or maybe a link for one? Thanks, Ted

Anyone in the Calgary area with Belangers?

I had B&B's with dynatech long tubes on my C5, that exhaust burble was absolutely perfect. I'm trying to accomplish something similar with the viper, but being a V10 with no cross over and a different firing order, I know the viper really has a sound of it's own. I had talked to Billy Boat...

Anyone in the Calgary area with Belangers?

Hi Tim, I think the sound is probably going to be different on a GenII cause of the way the exhaust is laid out. I do appreciate the offer though, and would love to check out your genII. (I'm a closet genII lover). Thanks, Ted

Anyone in the Calgary area with Belangers?

Hi Tony, I know Steve at Davenport just installed some Belangers on an '08 I was just hoping that one of their customers might be someone on the VCA. I don't like asking for customers names, just feel like it would be infringing on someone's privacy. Thanks!

Anyone in the Calgary area with Belangers?

I was wondering if anyone was in the Calgary area that has belanger headers and exhaust on their GenIV? I was contemplating on buying a set for mine, but would like to hear them in person before I drop the hammer. Thanks, Ted

    Brake noise

I have the same issue with my 08; brakes squeaking most noticeably when slow and less noticeable but still there at higher speeds. The squeak seems to go away if I apply the brakes lightly. I have had the same issue on other high performance vehicles with race pads. I don't know if there is any...

    Engine noise

If the rockers were contacting the valve covers, have you checked to see if the pushrods might have gotten bent? Bent pushrods would cause some detonation issues.
