If oil starvation was the issue, the bearings will have a bluish to black color, as well as having any melted pieces of metal welded to the bearing. This is caused by extreme heat generated by a lack of lube. Those shells look like they were sanded down by 20 grit sandpaper.
Another indicator...
It doesn't look like there are any heat check marking on those bearings. The only culprit would be filings or oil contamination. This is only my opinion, but I'm sure others will agree.
Instead of bypassing the safety interlock switch, you could pull out the switch and attach an extension to the plunger. This will still provide you the safety, without having to press the pedal all the way down.
I did this to my wife's corvette a number of years ago.
I've got an 08 SRTC, black with silver stripes and 4300 miles on it.
I'd like to get an SSG with black or graphite stripes.
The SSG's are hard to come by here.
Andt, what's the weight of the concave mesh versus stock.
It looks like they are a three piece wheel versus a one piece forged.
Also, if they are a three piece; can the centres be done with a separate finish?
Thanks!
Both the Amsoil (severe gear only) and the Redline don't require the addition of the slip lock additive due to their synthetic formulations, but if your diff starts to make any clicking noises during turning then the addition of some slip lock additive would be required.
I have not needed to...
Does anyone know if there is a way to increase the shock stiffness on an '08?
I find that the suspension is a little bouncy for street driving.
I like the amount of overall stiffness, but find that the factory compression and rebound settings are too soft.
I would like to try avoiding spring...
Hi Ted,
I know I've been a little lazy on the membership. Now that work has begun to pick back up, I will be sending out a membership application right away.
Would you be able to forward over a Western Canada app. form or maybe a link for one?
Thanks,
Ted
I had B&B's with dynatech long tubes on my C5, that exhaust burble was absolutely perfect. I'm trying to accomplish something similar with the viper, but being a V10 with no cross over and a different firing order, I know the viper really has a sound of it's own.
I had talked to Billy Boat...
Hi Tim,
I think the sound is probably going to be different on a GenII cause of the way the exhaust is laid out.
I do appreciate the offer though, and would love to check out your genII. (I'm a closet genII lover).
Thanks,
Ted
Hi Tony,
I know Steve at Davenport just installed some Belangers on an '08
I was just hoping that one of their customers might be someone on the VCA. I don't like asking for customers names, just feel like it would be infringing on someone's privacy.
Thanks!
I was wondering if anyone was in the Calgary area that has belanger headers and exhaust on their GenIV? I was contemplating on buying a set for mine, but would like to hear them in person before I drop the hammer.
Thanks,
Ted
I have the same issue with my 08; brakes squeaking most noticeably when slow and less noticeable but still there at higher speeds. The squeak seems to go away if I apply the brakes lightly. I have had the same issue on other high performance vehicles with race pads. I don't know if there is any...
If the rockers were contacting the valve covers, have you checked to see if the pushrods might have gotten bent? Bent pushrods would cause some detonation issues.
