You guys are just way too uptight!!! :evilmad:
I do not mean to offend, come on... But I am sorry if I did. :(
I know I have a big mouth, and many times it is on purpose, just to cause a reaction from people... "spice things up" you can call it.
And i know very well I will be taking...
Why are some of you guys posting pics of totally stock vipers??
Yes, it does look nice but I do know what it looks like....
This reminds me of the guy who in his signature, even mentioned that he had VIPER VALVE STEM CAPS...
LOL,,, way to go buddy, radical mod!!
Totally agree with you. I am not even going to waste cyberspace listing the reasons we all know why a viper should never come with paddle shifts, or 4 wheels drive, or an automatic.
:nono:
I've always disliked yellow cars, including the R/T... But for some reason I think the SRT is gorgeous in yellow, especially the coupe w/ black stripes!! makes me drool!
congrats to those of you that have them!
"Chech the oil EVERY TIME before you drive it???"
I think it is you that needs to check your car... that is not normal, and absolutely not necessary in a new car!!!
BTW, those wheels... AHHHHH!!!!! My absolute favorite for the SRT!!!! GORGEOUS!!
Yeah, it was a Goodyear something... (long time ago) in a supercharged Z28 that I had when I was around 20. I always thought tires would make noise when blowing up, but mine totally disintegrated in an instant, before I knew it I was riding on the wheel.
I've never taken this motor apart (SRT) but why do we need to change the housing along with the T-stat??
The car runs so much better cooler, I am considering this option.... or Hot Rod option B, Drill a couple of holes through the T-stat.
I may take fire for this, but it is a tried and tested...
Correct Robbie....
T-Stat is not an exact science!! I will not pull #'s out of my @$$, but there is a range of temperature from the time the spring starts to expand (OPEN) to the time it is fully expanded, and fully opened.
My guess is they are rated at the temp. when they are fully opened.
Vanity Mirrors!!!
j/k :-)
-What's wrong with ABS?? I drive on torrential downpours in Miami, it is very much welcome!!
-I'd hate to see cruise control, and I bet you my left nut that the viper will never have it.
-Trunk is big enough as it is, thank you very much.
-I'd sacrifice a little...
Only you can decide that. Do you mind hitting some speed bumps? do you drive exceptionally bumpy roads? steep driveway/parking lots?
With 19/20's I'd go as low as possible, unless I had some of the problems above... my $0.02
Tom we'd need to see pics...
the flywheel being a lot harder probably is ok, and could be resurfaced.
The clutch disk is easier to damage, but then again I am just theorizing, I'd have to see it.
Is the clutch soaked in Oil? that could be another reason for replacement. The oil will damage...
The REDUCED FRICTION from the ROLLERS is the most significant H.P. gain here.
You do not want to be multiplying the lift too much at the rocker arms (1.8,1.9) especially with aluminum heads, puts stress on the studs and deforms the head on the long run.
Then, the absolute next step is a blower...
you'll need a new thermostat +housing if you reprogram the fans to come on at 170. the Tstat should be 160-165 to be exact.
Otherwise, you will have a roller-coaster temperature in the coolant. not good, you want a cool 160-170 steady.
-I definitely would not want C. Control..
-I like the cupholder, it is my "cellphone holder"
-I prefer rear exhaust. That way it can be loud and not make me deaf.
-REAL LEATHER... please!!!
-of course, more H.P....
-DOHC? Smaller egine? (I am getting killed for saying this!!) would make it...
You can give him carrots instead ;-)
Sorry, had to...
Buddy, you need to open up the exhust, you don't need Dough Levin to tell you that. that engine is CONSTIPATED, eating too much but cannot expel the by-products.
Get Mopar Off-road and you are all set. I recall someone in here saying that...
I used to hangout at parking lots and race when I was 18-24, not now that I am in my 30's. VCA compromises a whole series of events and each one of us can pick and choose what to attend, what to like.
I never aspire to be as good as a professional tuner, but my family (and me now) have been...
lots of fun I will say! :headbang:
I used to do that right before every tire change, until I blew a tire and damaged an expensive FIKSE wheel. Now I am paranoid it will happen to me again!
I don't know this kit specifically, but I assume it MUST come with a BOV. Otherwise, if you were ever to have the throttle closed at high RPM,s you would just blow out the hoses from the SC to the Throttle body.
So yes, chances are it is just a bigger pulley for less boost... but still 620...
Sorry brother...
I happen to live in South Beach, and I have WAY BETTER places to be in a Friday night than to hangout at a parking lot with you and your buddies, wanking looking at each other's cars and beer bellies. (and bold heads as you say!!) :bonker:
You can of course come find me...
