Re: Last pictures of my dear Viper. It\'s finally going away.
That sucks! Almost too painful to look at, and it isn't even my car.
I'll tell my appraiser there is now one less GTS out there!
Mike M
That will hurt your value if the buyer is a diehard believer in CarFax or NADA reports. Some banks also flag it, but that is very rare.
Best of luck with the car and the job search.
If he calls it "NOS" and installs a switch labeled "NOS", I would be scared. I've been using nitrous on various cars since 1983 ... but never NOS.
I see lots of ads, even for the older stuff, that say "Nitrous never used". RIGHT!!!
Chuck, no way - Armor All free zone! It's a "Just Dashes" restoration that just happened to have a flood light pointed its direction so I had enough light to snap the shot in my dark garage.
(And no, I don't know why the person that did the restification put that Grant GT steering wheel on it...
Yes, if the driver can manage to hit the passenger side :-)
Besides, a blown Viper hitting an object at speed 'x' is no different than a normally aspirated Viper hitting the same object at the same speed of 'x'.
Bill, don't add words to what was meant in jest. Saying you had visions of someone dead around a telephone pole would be out of line. That's why I didn't SAY that. Have another read of the post.
The first time I put nitrous on a car, back in 1983, my dad told me that he could see the car...
Re: How many ACR\'s were built for each year & R they worth the extra $$
I do agree that ultimately the ACR low mileage cars are going to be the top sellers someday - Assuming this market doesn't correct itself hard and then forever stay in the realms of reason.
Mike M
Dolrbil, you are right. The blown and nitroused LS1, or either of the blown big block Camaros I've owned surely didn't prepared me to answer a very complex "how do you drive a blown Viper" post.
I'll try to be more selective with my sarcasm placement next time ... There and I thought...
I've owned a few dozen GM cars (60's - Current) and was amazed at how well my GTS is put together. You could almost make me believe this isn't an American car :-)
When you buy a computer that doesn't have the punctuation keys is it any cheaper or did you happen to buy one where the warranty doesnt cover the punctuation keys so you just figured you wouldnt use them so that you didnt have to be told that the warranty didnt cover them and then youd get all...
Re: How many ACR\'s were built for each year & R they worth the extra $$
When I started looking, I quickly ruled out an ACR for myself. I know my plans for the car didn't call for it, and I wasn't about to pay extra for things I didn't want ... in particular those wheels that I'm not too crazy...
I got one >> When your neighbors start coming over to make small talk. I've lived in this new house for four months, and could count on one finger the times a neighbor has just meandered over.
I've had the Viper a few weeks, and I know most everyone in my neighborhood. They just...
It's funny you said that about the ricers. I took my GTS out for a few miles today, and some kid in a lowered-way-too-far Acura was giving me revs out of his fart can. [******]?
Mike M
If given a choice between using a Gen I as a daily driver, or driving a Vette, I'd opt for the Vette. I can't imagine using my GTS as a daily driver, and it is somewhere up the scale from a Gen I.
Maybe I'm not hard core enough!
Mike M
My asking prices are always very close to my selling prices, and oftentimes the same - Simply because I price things for what they are worth, and then I weed out tire kickers and serial [******] artists.
I'm telling you, price it too low and you'll get nothing but headaches. Price it right...
