Cleaned throttle bodies even though they were clean, checked vaccum hoses and adjusted the throttle bodies so the driver's side opens just before the passenger side. They both were set to open at the same time before I adjusted them. Still have the surging at 1600 rpm in 5th and 6th...
Battery is brand new Optima red top. Seems there are differing opinions on GEN IIs needing the throttle bodies synced.:confused::dunno::brick::panic::ponder:

I have the exact same cooling setup as you. I had all my fluids changed yesterday including a flush and fill. The temp went to the mark before the red mark at 250. We shut it down and burped the air (there were a lot of air bubbles visible in the evacuation hose) and filled again. Took the car...
Just picked up a '98 GTS. I have surging in 5th & 6th gear at around 60 mph. I also have bucking at low speeds. I've searched this issue and although there are posts on it with varying opinions I can't find one that spells out the exact procedure to sync the throttle bodies for a GEN II.
