Re: can\'t find the keyhole.....
Actually I wired up my ignition to the "Clapper" to get rid of that ugly hole. You just have to stay away from large public events involving applause.
I'm a recent owner of 6 months. A stock Viper will give you close to what you're used to. There's nothing like a Viper (Gen I,II) and every time you drive one it's an event. They handle differently and you have to get aquainted but they're unique. The B/W RT's are very rare and $$$$ but you can...
Ditto NEVER. When I picked mine up in San Fran last year, just with the trailer side door open anyone walking by would gawk; "is that a race car?", is that a Viper?, "what is that?", "coool", "always wanted one of those" etc.
Noticed in the roller positioning assy on each side of the hood at rear there is a hook and pin arrangement that don't seem to function in any position. They're just there. Seems at some point they'd mate up but never do, at least on my hood. With the hood closed you have to look up under to see...
Going to dinner with the wife this evening and see a beautiful new Ferrari convert up front. Pull along side and we both nod and smile "nice car". Start a little light game of tag and I see this dark Chevy sedan on my butt, little blue and reds crawling across the dash. Unmarked car. I pull in...
Besides idle hang this problem seems the most common. Mine's the same as 94RT's. Luck of the draw. I don't worry about it too much. Sometime I might get really ambitious and do a facia/headlite job, but I'd rather be driving. As yet nobody has said " I love your car but what's with the big gap...
His name is still John Holmes and he is MR. DIESEL at Carson Dodge. Helped me a lot getting into my first Viper. His car is fantastic. His wife races it out a Fernley. Before you start snickering, she used to race dragsters too!
Re: What is the strangest or BEST reaction you\'ve had to driving your viper
Went down to Starbucks for a cup and 2 teeny boppers (cute)say "Love your car, can we have your autograph?" I'm old enough to be their grandfather. Fun stuff.
If you've got deep pockets see "Taking offers on collectible Vipers" post(pg2). You can go with a '97 blue/white RT10 or a 96 GTS w/38 mi. That low enough mi for you?
Reading the concern of remote mountings, and out of sight installations: others have told me radar is perfectly legal. So what's the deal? They're clueless?
