    Could be ASD relay. You have more that you need to test but it needs to be systematic. I can only help so much as I don't have a service manual for gen1 (only crude manual access). Only full manuals for 97 and 98.

    @TexasTorred wrench challenged is not going to be a problem. Gorillaing stuff will be since the stuff is plastic. Take your time, search through posts on a couple viper sites and ask. Some clips will feel like hidden screws and hidden screws will feel like clips. Just he careful.

    Could be a brokem plastic piece inside the transport mechanism, communication wire, etc. I feel you are stuck taking it out and apart.

    Heard to stay away from optima and the Diehards wet cell are good but I found that in the last 5-7 years, batteries have gone to crap. I would go with the cheapest that has a good warranty but would weigh cost/warranty ratio. Also depends on how much you drive it or let it on a tender.

    I think you are over your head. How did the startor short to the cooler lines? What did you remove and then reconnected?
