    1997 Viper GTS Hood Question

You have to replace the springs. I had it done in my 97 quite a few years ago. You might have a hard time finding them. Try Partsrack

How-to-Guide on StopTech SS Brake line Install Guide?

My mechanic did the install on my 2010 ACR. I think I remember that the bags were mislabeled backwards. Meaning Right was in Left bag and Left was in Right bag. And I remember he had to bend some metal tab slightly. Sorry I can't be more help.

2006 Viper with 12500 miles purchased, what maintenance should I have done?

I have also replaced the hatch struts a couple of times when they felt weak.

2006 Viper with 12500 miles purchased, what maintenance should I have done?

You can change the power steering fluid also. And the air filter. Since you don't know the history, I would change every fluid. It is not cheap, but at least you will have a baseline. I have had 3 used Vipers, and I change everything each time.

Finally ready to buy a Viper, have a few questions though.

There was no GTS in Gen 1. It started in Gen 2 in 1996. I am 6 ft and with a helmet in my 1997 GTS it was a little tight. The top of the helmet would touch the roof. The GTS roof has bubbles above the two seats that helps some, but you might be too tall to fit. Get a helmet and sit in one to...

    2010 ACR Coolant Change

While you are under there, you might also want to trim away some of underbody aero that slightly blocks access to the frame tie down holes. I used a grinder to free up room in that trim panel so that I could use r hooks to tie down the car in a trailer.

    1996 GTS Oil Pan Upgrade

Check this old thread. Not my post, but on my 97 I upgraded to a newer, deeper oil pan, and added the windage and baffle kit. I think the pan was from 2000, but am not sure. http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/604150-Oil-Pan-Baffle-install

Changing Brakes (Rear) on Gen 2s

I saw a viper tech use a socket that he ground down to make the little exposed pins out of the socket wall that was left.. He made his own tool.

VOI 13 COTA - Track plans

Great event everyone. I know this was a major commitment of time to pull this event off, and we really enjoyed the event and people. Excellent job. Thanks for putting it all together.

Hoosier R6 looses traction at the track

I ran those on 17/17 on my gen 2. Once I got them warmed up, they were awesome. If you are not getting them warm, they are loose. You might need to adjust tire pressure to force them hot sooner. I used to also swing left/right on the warm up lap to use the friction to create heat.

    99 GTS Oil Change Questions

Have extra oil in case the previous owner upgraded to the larger oil pan. I did that on my 97, and added the windage baffles to help reduce the potential oil starvation in high speed track turns.

    Battery tender/maintainer

If it is a coupe, it is easy. Remove the battery cover to access the battery. Hook up the pigtails to the battery. Put back together. You can then reach the pigtail from the slot under the bumper to attach the tender when you want to use it. I haven't looked at a convertible, so I don't know...

    Cell Phone Mount Options

I mounted it on the passenger vent in the center console. I put my iPhone 5 there. I mount it so that it grips the phone near the top, just below the volume buttons. It hangs down where the bottom edge of the phone blocks part of the stereo screen. But you can still charge the phone from the...

Teamtech harnesses. The Gen 4 has holes in the bulkhead behind the seats, and behind the seat near the floor to install eye bolts to clip in the harnesses.

Coupe or Vert - Any track restrictions?

Gen3 brakes are far better than Gen 2. If you are going to track the car a lot and go with a Gen 2, you might feel the need to upgrade the brakes, which is not a cheap project. Just condsider that during your research. I think I spent about $6k upgrading my old Gen 2 brakes when I destroyed...
