any viper owners with knee replacements --can you get in and out and drive you viper?

Re: any viper owners with knee replacements --can you get in and out and drive you vi I had my left knee replaced and was back to driving in 6 weeks. No issue with that knee getting in and out of the car. You should be fine, no worries!

The best looking Gen V I've seen yet. Breathtaking.

To those who predict skies falling on Viper on account of upcoming Z06

I'm sure it will be good. And, I'm sure that a loaded C7Z will be near or maybe over $100k after you tack on all the go-fast stuff such as the Z07 package, etc. But - it still will NOT be a Viper. Different strokes for different folks; I'm just glad there are choices.

So tell me about the seat screws that can be taken out to allow more headroom?

Compared to most cars, the Viper - regardless of Generation - has a lower roof line all the way around. I'm 6'1 and my Gen IV was hard to see out of the windshield until I found the sweet spot for pedal placement, seat position on the rails, and amount of seat back recline. Once I did it was...

Keep the C7 Stingray or back to a Viper?

Thanks for the reply. I think you might have mistaken my citing the Edmunds review as being so torn. I'm not, but, I do appreciate the abilities that the C7 offers and to do what it can do with nearly 200 hp less shows what kind of car it truly is, performance wise. Having said that, you should...

Keep the C7 Stingray or back to a Viper?

While it may not seem fair on a performance level, the C7 Z51 actually out performed a Gen V in the slalom, on the skid pad, and in braking in the Edmunds Review. The Viper walked it in the quarter, but the handling aspect of the C7 is very impressive. The new Z06 will be in another league, yes.

Keep the C7 Stingray or back to a Viper?

I test drove my C7 before I bought it and was impressed. But looking back, I was way more impressed when I bought my Gen IV and drove it from Goergia to NW Ohio - without a test drive first. Now THAT was a great drive!

Rebate on ge 5 coming this week

Nearly EVERY Viper dealer I've spoken with have NO CLUE how to sell a Viper. High prices plus salesmen without any idea how to sell these cars equals 800 cars sitting on lots with a 400+ day inventory. And with only $5-$10 k in dealer cash that can be selectively applied to 2013s only is...

Rebate on ge 5 coming this week

This is only on '13's or all Gen V's?

Keep the C7 Stingray or back to a Viper?

Yep, I think you're right. For me, the C7 is lacking in visceral appeal, excitement, and what it requires of you as a driver. It is an amazing car in so many ways but for me - and it's just my opinion - while it has all the potential in the world, it just does not grab me like the Viper does. I...

Keep the C7 Stingray or back to a Viper?

Yep, I drove an Adrenaline red SRT. JAW DROPPING... Worth the extra cost easily in my view. Looking at a Gunmetal Gray tomorrow. ;-)

    It doesn't! That's why I'm looking. ;-)

Keep the C7 Stingray or back to a Viper?

That is very true. The interior, while initially impressive, is nothing like the Gen V's. The car is very refined though and it's efficiency as well as the electronics are impressive. But it just leaves me wanting more. Maybe it's the respect factor my Gen IV made me feel? The C7 always feels...

Keep the C7 Stingray or back to a Viper?

Orlanderlv - that was exactly the type of response I was hoping for. While all have been very helpful, yours resonated with me because you had a Stingray. Your assessment of the Vette is dead on and your reasons for trading are exactly why I'm looking. While the C7 is all you said, it just...

Keep the C7 Stingray or back to a Viper?

I never said the C7 was a better car than a Gen IV. Just different. Some things are better, yes. But the Viper has its real advantages too. Two completely different vehicles when you compare a Viper to a Vette.

Keep the C7 Stingray or back to a Viper?

I have the C7 now and traded a Gen IV for it. Love both for different reasons. The Gen V seems to offer the best of both.

Keep the C7 Stingray or back to a Viper?

I had an 08 Gen IV Coupe for a season and loved the car but fell in love with the C7 Stingray and traded late last fall. I got a black C7 Stingray coupe 7 speed and it's an awesome car. But I miss that Viper soul. And I REALLY miss that raw, brutal power. So I'm looking to trade my C7 for...

    Non-factory painted stripes affect value?

Thanks Mike. I must have seen a '10 then because its stripes went through the bracket area?

    Non-factory painted stripes affect value?

I was looking at an '09 Gen IV that has painted stripes but they are not factory applied. Actually, the stipe pattern doesn't seem correct although the painter did a nice job on them. The biggest difference seems to be that he did not paint the area at the rear where the license plate bracket...

Hellcat twin turbo Hemi V8 showing up in the Viper soon?

Sorry to break it to you but the V10 motor is only the power, not the car's entire soul/character. True, it is a huge part of what a Viper is but this kind of thinking so like the Vette crowd crying about round tail lights, pop up head lights, and natural aspiration. Evolutionary thinking...

Hellcat twin turbo Hemi V8 showing up in the Viper soon?

I actually think a lower priced Viper model (with a particular package name) that would have the Hellcat motor would sell well at the right price point. But if anyone thinks that the Viper has to ONLY be a V10 that is dinosaur thinking. Seriously - remember when the Vette crowd was howling...
