You know something that really truly does suck about the Gen V?
I did a lot of mundane things in my gen II when I had it (it was my DD 8 months out of the year). I never really was too worried about it, I figured a red gts with alarm going off and some knucklehead with his hands in the hood would likely generate sufficient notice that said knucklehead...- hawkeye

Scratched Viper idea and going with a C7 Z06

I would say, ideally, it goes on an almost unhealthy diet (think, 360 Challenge Stradale vs. regular 360), and has GTS-R-based Aero, best cup tires available (I don't care what Fiat/Pirelli has to say about it), and a ton of hours tuning the car for road course work. Gen V has it's work cut out for it at the Ring...
I was pondering the other day, the fact that the Little Mac, the MP4-12C, is actually slightly faster to 100 (by .2-.4 seconds) than the Big Mac (F1). Now of course, the F1 is a 20 year old car. I agree, 130k is steep (although I think one could be done for a 105k sticker that would meet my needs), the financial aspect is as good a reason as any to be in a II. Frankly having both does make sense if finances allow it, they are not totally redundant. The II has some things the (stock)...- hawkeye

I have 40,000 miles of (aggressive driving, I was 20 years old when I bought it, use your imagination) seat time on a 97 GTS.
