I was told that people here on the VCA board have claimed 1500hp Vipers?? To me that seems a bit far fetched for a Viper. I know that there are the odd 800hp supercharged Viper and a few Twin Turbo Vipers are starting to spring up now but 1500hp!?!?

Unless these people were talking about all-out blown drag Vipers, i don't see how?

I am really trying to find as much info on heavilly modded Vipers so i can add more info to my web site(http://dive.to/300kph) so any info on these supposed 1500hp Vipers wouldbe really handy.

Yeh, i pop in and out rather frequently and i don't recall anyone claiming that much either but thats just what i was told by another user on the VCA board.

So is the SVSi Twin Turbo's 993hp still number 1 or are there other higher hp vipers on todays streets?

I think that there are cars doing this, but all of the owners are now dark spots in the desert (sorry, it's my military brat humor).

Seriously, I think that builders like SVSi, Doug Levin and maybe Wes Coppen of Grants' Performance are building engines over 900 HP. With the addition of NOS, you can probably bump these engines up quite a bit. I don't know if they have gone that high, but why don't you start your research with these guys.

I wonder where you could test these out? Do dyno's go this high?

Good luck.

Doug Levin can build a 1,200 HP quite easily. Last year he won king of the dyno and the duno maxed out at 1,200 HP. There were lots of witnesses there if you don't believe it. It all depends on how wild and crazy you want to get w/ the blower / motor / and nitrous.

Gerald

Sir Hiss has the right idea. If you want over 800
RELIABLE horsepower from a Viper put a BIG BLOCK
CHEVY in it.

A few years ago, VeeTech Motor Services a UK company did a RT
twin Garratt T04 modified turbo conversion with a proven 1000bhp at the flywheel.
Along with a 'few' other mods, the best being ABS and traction
control. They worked on the aerodynamics and tested the viper past 200, 0-60 was covered in 3 seconds I'll email you the full article if you like

Ernie,

It's better to keep quiet and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

King Hiss is all mopar. I believe Cash has a standing challenge to pay you $10,000 if you find a Chevy part on his car - AS LONG AS you are willing to put up $10,000 if you can't.

Why don't you take him up on this challenge and post back when you're $10,000 poorer, but a lot wiser?
