From the SRT engineers.

Answers to lap time Questions...

Newport Viper
Q: 2) I got a chance to drive the Nurburgring recently. I am amazed at the track!! Elevation changes, 70+ turns, dips, off camber turns.... truly an amazing road to drive! Nothing comes close.

Let's say given another week of 2-4 hour a day testing, how much more could the SRT team have beaten the 7:22.1 by?

It's OK for SRT to speculate..... You are among friends. :D"

A: You might not believe this but 7:22.1 was exactly the upper end of our lap time prediction before we went to the track. Everyone on the team left Germany believing we could be running in the teens if we had more track time. If we had a week of 2-4 hours per day (and lots of fresh tires) the ACR could probably run in the mid to low teens, weather and conditions permitting.

VERY COOL! Thanks SRT! :headbang::usa::2tu:

Remember they set the record in only a few laps of track time!

I'll never forget the "reveal" of the video of the record breaking run at VOI10. What a treat. They should have had a stack of order forms on each table.

That shot brings back memories of my trip to the Nordshleife. Thats the track side of the Dorint Hotel in the background. They have great food! You can see the F1 track, just behind the ACR. The Nurburg Castle is to the photographer's back.

Mid to low teens? :omg: :drive:

dayum! :headbang: :usa: Might even beat the Donkervoort! :)

I wish the Ring was in our backyard, so we could test there month after month~!

I don't think it's necessary. Same as usual they spent less, used less effort and kicked asp.

Maybe one day someone will get close, then it'll be time to spend a few bucks and set a new record. That will allow management to give Tator back his dealership and decide on which hp figure it wants in the World's fastest Car, again.

Just wanted to ad this information to this thread for future searchers...

In case you want to take your ACR to PP or the 'Ring, here are the setup data...direct from SRT chat session.

Every track is different, so its very difficult to provide recommendations for many tracks. To define the ACR Manual Settings:

Smooth Track: Relatively flat track with little to no elevation change. Good surface condition with minor bumps and small FIA style curbing. For us, this would be tracks similar to Gingerman Raceway or Putnam Park Road Course. Our setup for say Gingerman would be:

Ride Heights: Front: 102mm Rear: 136mm
Splitter: 6mm deflection
Rear Wing: Pos 2
Damping: Front C6, R6 Rear C5 R5

Rough Track: Rough surface conditions with aggressive bumps or curbing. Large elevation changes that result in large compression of the suspension through dips. Local to us, this would be Nelson Ledges Road Course.

The Nurburgring is a little different than anything we have experienced in the USA. The surface is in good condition for most of the track, but the elevation changes and large compression dips are very ******* the suspension. Therefore, you need more control in the dampers and more travel at the suspension. Most of the turns are very high speed as well, so its nice to have more understeer at high speed. Our setup for the Nurburgring was:

Ride Heights: Front: 112mm Rear: 150mm
Splitter: 0mm deflection
Rear Wing: Pos 3
Damping: Front C4, R5 Rear C3 R6
