'98 was the first year for the alarm disable key switch in the center compartment and, according to the parts catalog, '97 and '98 use the same entry module (4848 832).
If this is the case, one should be able to retrofit a '97 with the disable feature. Anybody with a '98 service manual that can shed some light on how the key switch is wired to the module?
