Alarm light on dash - how do you replace it?

My LED on the dash (2001 GTS) is so dim that you can hardly even SEE it, even at night. I know that LEDs lose their potency over time and mine is WAY overdue. Tried prying it up with my finger nails (hoping beyond hope that it would just pop out), but that wasn't going to work.

Has anyone torn the dash apart and noticed if it has a backing nut or just squeeze tabs? I'd love to take the original out and replace it with one that can be seen as people approach the car. Any knowledgable input would be greatly appreciated!

? What LED are you talking about? Any Pics? I can't say Ive ever noticed a Led on the dash on my 2000 GTS Whats it for?

top of the dash Mark above the 4 instrument guages, it gives warning flashes when the alarm is on

Ha Ha, that thing, I hardly ever have that on in the garage, I was thinking of something in the Instrument area. Sorry.

You can see mine in my '01 from across a parking lot. Get that Autozone carpet dash protector off your car and it will be all good
