Beware- Dealers hyping \"no more coupes\"

Went to a Viper supporting Dodge Dealer today to see if I could get a preview of the Sapphire Blue on a Viper. They had only a 00
Grey ACR (complete with 1,800 dollars of additional markup).
The salesman was told by the sales manager there would be no more coupes after 01. I have heard here on this board 02 would be the last of the coupes for awhile. I think coupes may become scarce, but not for a couple of years. The production of the new
Viper will be very low, but availability of used ones should still be there.

Re: Beware- Dealers hyping \"no more coupes\"

The key phase is "salesman was told by the sales manager".

Half of everything that comes out of salesman's is false, and the other half is something that his sales manager made up. You decide what to believe.

There are plenty of coupes available. Even after the 2003 convertible comes out there will still be '01 coupes on showroom floors. Within a couple years of the new convertible coming out, we should start getting excited about the new coupe! Until then, there will be a plenty of good used coupes for those willing do to their homework and research. And if there is a shortage, I will be willing to sell mine! A perfect stock 1998 (new in June of 2000) with 2,790 miles! It has never seen rain, for that mater, it's never seen water, because I wipe it clean and zaino it after every trip.

Don't take that comment the wrong way Mr. Pemberton. There are exception to every rule. And you are one of those exceptions!
