Cool pics!

Thanks for posting them.

A friend of mine has a cool T/A combo, a 1970 Dodge T/A Challenger and a 1973 Pontiac T/A 455SD. Both very beautiful cars (Now if he would only drive them).

Ron, it's difficult to tell but it looks like the seats of the Trans Am have headrest, so I'm going to guess that it's a 1970? Those two cars make an awesome combo! Makes me wish I would have never gotten rid of my 71 Formula 455.

You are a certified Pontiac expert! Yes, it is a 1970 1/2 RAIII 4 speed and yes the only way to tell between a 1970 & 1971/2 is the seatback. 1970 is also the last year GM had high compression. It's my third T/A. I had a 1973 Brewster Green 455 (my first car @ 16, lucky me) and a 1978 Black on Black (decal-less) WS6 400 - 4 speed w/ t-tops.

Though I too regret selling them, now that I have the Viper, the '70 will probably go on the block soon. Sadly, I just don't have the garage space or the time to enjoy both...

P.S. Of course, the Viper outperforms the T/A in every way except sound. The howling Rochester heard when the hood scoop door opens is heavenly and the exhaust, even with the stock crossflow muffler, is great. I've taken digital sound recordings of both to enjoy years from now.
