Is it supposed to cut of that early??

I thought it was around 6500 rpm?? Does this do any damage to the motor when it kicks off like that??

Car seems fine but this was my first time it happened to me.

Any body else experience this??

6250 is the number, as stated above. I hit my rev limiter a bunch with the 3.55's and lighter flywheel. West Coast can raise the rev limiter for you. Mine is now set at 6500 and I have not hit it since the reset. Also, our SRT-10 tach's are a bit behind actual rpm's, so shift earlier based upon the tach and you'll be OK. I now shift when the tach says 6000 and it's about 6250. No issues yet.

I agree with Blade Runner... I hit it going through the S at TMS... absolutely scared the crap out of me... by the time I got my head on straight I had complete blown the next corner. It took me 2 or 3 more turns to get my line back.

Fuel Cutoff is 6100 rpm... check your "Hero Cards" and other factory brocures, etc... and that's the same limit imposed on the truck and competition coupes. Check www.vipercompetitioncoupe.com under specifications->engine->max engine speed.

I thought it was 6048 rpm. Dave (Dyno Dave) if you see this can you verify it.

I let off the gas on the red run, but ran it to the fuel shut-off on the blue:

Chris, how did that compare to your 2003 for the fuel shut-off point. It may have changed between 2003 and 2005.

Max engine speed and fuel cutoff are two different points. I have an 04 service manual and tried for about an hour to find this number so I could post it, but no luck. The 6250 number came from a tuner who has access to this info.

I'll keep trying.
