Curious. Can anyone answer this question? Why does our new SRT/10 hood scoop look like it was lifted from a Chevy Camaro and yet the Camaro's scoop is a functional ram air intake (like our GTS) and the SRT/10's is only a "hole in the hood."

You're right. Only 20% of the intake air comes through the hood scoop. The bulk of this air comes through openings in the forward edge of the hood, and begins forward of the radiator.

As far as I'm concerned, the scoop seems as if the opening is wider than the GTS'. If you open up the hood, take a #10 screwdriver and remove the air baffle; you'll get a direct ram effect, similarly to the GTS when you change the air box to the KN carbon fiber air box.

Well... maybe not.
Take a closer look at where the air comes from. The cross section of that opening is far less than the big "Dodge Grin" opening for the radiator. That is where the bulk of the air comes from that flows into the air cleaner box. IMO, removing the baffle may even reduce airflow by allowing air to escape out the scoop.

Anyone listening from DCX who can comment on this please chime in...

On the GTS...and my RT/10 for that matter, the NACA duct has very little "ram air" effect...common misconception...
