I\'m still not a PROUD VIPER MEMBER???

It's been more than a month since I contacted my local Viper club for membership. I think by purchasing a brand new Viper, it comes with one year free membership, right? And I had already sent them the membership form back a month ago and followed by a few emails but up to now, still no words from them. I wonder what else can i do?

Welcome to the Viper Community!

Local ViperClubs are run by volunteer Presidents, and Board of Directors. Often times it takes quiet a while for them to be notified by D-C that they have granted you gift with your Viper purchase, a one year membership.

Clubs sometimes send out a welcome kit, but not all of them do, and most of them do not send them immediatly.

Please contact your local club President by phone/ mail/ e-mail. They will then welcome you to your club, and bring you up to date on club activities.
Many clubs have links to this site.

In view of recent disruptions, please be patient as times are quite stressful.

It took 2 months for me to get the VCA membership card. I don't know why it takes so long, give them some more time I guess.

Re: I\'m still not a PROUD VIPER MEMBER???

It took me two months to get my membership badge which was incorrectly spelled and was sent to the wrong address. They did not send my wife's at all. I notified VCA and it tool them three more months to get the corrected badges. They were actually rude during one of my 3 phone calls to them about the replacement of the incorrect badge. They will tell you that it takes 4 to 6 weeks to get the badges made. I told them I have a badge company and can supply them in 10 days. I then offered to quote their business. They told me they buy locally (how parochial) and were happy with their supplier.
We pay $100.00/year for the privilege of being a member of the VCA which tells me I'm paying $25.00 for a quarterly magazine I could get along without. I have suggested to the Southern California VC that they create a membership category of "Local Members" that pay dues ONLY to the local chapter. The advantage is the local club will receive all the dues rather than the 40% the VCA kicks back to them.
I didn't buy a Viper to kiss someone's a** to get a correct piece of plastic.
If I were all of you I'd question what the club really does for you from a national level.

With all due respect, your ID card does NOT make you a member, it is just a token gesture of recognition. If you have been confirmed a member by calling Viper HQ's 800 number....you're all set!

Your National membership dollars goes to much more important aspects of club responsibilities that include your subscription to Viper Magazine, insurance at club events, subsidizing zone and regional events, printing and distributing of VCA Notes, and many other future events and issues.

A matter of fact, there was a thought, just a few years ago, where we would NOT distribute the ID card because of the added expense, but decided to continue as many had thought it was a "fun" item to receive.

We hope you'll understand that the ID cards are manufactured in "blocks" as to keep costs low...but the important fact is that you ARE a VCA member!, as there are many exciting events being developed by your NATIONAL VCA that you wouldn't want to miss.
