LA to Santa Barbara Cruise on April 28th

For those of you in Southern Cal:

A bunch of folks at the Corvette Forum are getting together for a cruise up the coast. We'll leave early on Sunday morning, have brunch up there in Montecito. On the return leg, some of the Vette people will be doing a canyon route on the return leg to LA.

This will not be a banzai run, but at that time of the morning, there are some places to open up our cars along the coast.

Where is everyone meeting and what time?

I'm not 100% sure I can make it since I'm in process of preparing for the Open Road Challenge in Nevada. My Snake may be in a state of disarray but I would love to join you guys, especially with the weather we're having right now.

I will be attending for sure allong with a few friends. I know of a mountain route which will lead us back to PCH, you may remember this one from the cruise you and I were on several years ago.

Cars attending on my end:
Viper some mods
NSX some mods
NSX stock
993 Twin turbo(Very modified)

Are you talking about the Malibu Canyon route that Ross Olney did a few years back (where the F bodies banged eachother)?

I just went to grab my dirctions for that cruise and cant find it!!! It will be a bit more work but I am going to map out the road tonight(get some practice in) so we will have a route on the way back.

I will print up some copies so people know where to go, etc....

We're meeting at the 76 station in Van Nuys on Ventura Blvd and the 405 freeway. Meeting time will be between 7:30 and 8 o'clock. We will be departing at 8:15.

So far no one knows of a canyon route for the return trip to LA, so it looks like we'll be sticking to the 101 freeway all the up and back. We're scheduled to have brunch in Montecito.

It'll be nice to have a few Vipers along. Since I'm doing my engine break-in, I'll be doing pretty moderate speeds.

We're taking the 101 out of the SF Valley and straight up the coast into Montecito. I am trying to finalize the reservations at a restaurant there. I should have it confirmed by Friday morning.

I'm sure that you'll have fun with Mani's Supra and the other Vettes.

Ok all done, we have our selves a nice 40-50 mile cruise on the way back home. About 20 miles of coast a brief rest stop for pictures and airing down tires

and another 30 of canyon thrills.

If you can give me an idea of how many people are going to show up, I will print up enough directions for everyone to follow.

Why don't you print out 20 copies. I don't think that everyone will be doing the canyon route on the return trip. Thanks for charting out the canyon route.
