'96 GTS is certainly a special car. Prices for low mileage examples will always be special as well.

Agreed, but while there are no guarantees, the 96 price could be on the way up while the Gen 5 is still on the way down. This is a collector car now that can no longer be driven or enjoyed, only kept on display to be looked at. Every mile put on a car like this costs big value loss. The Gen 5 can be driven and enjoyed. Two very different purchase decisions and owners.

I agree, unfortunately I'm still in the buy and drive stage and my cars aren't investments.
