I need to ship a wing cross country. The wing is one piece, so if a box is needed it would need to be a large one. Does anybody have any advice? Can I just bubble wrap it?

I had a GT2 wing shipped (UPS) bubble wrapped and boxed, but something had pierced through the box and scratched it. How about getting a wooden crate to contain it, knocked up out of some old pallet, and then pack it bubble wrapped, tightly packed with scrunched up newspapers? (Cheap softwood shouldn't weigh that much and won't pierce like cardboard, extra shipping cost is probably cheaper than risk repair / respray)!

A couple of years back, I bought a Multiaxis wing (now Partsrack}. The part was packed in a wooden crate and arrived safe and undamaged. The box looked like a coffin though.

You could check with a Contractor's Supply store ask for "Sonotube." This is a spiral-wound cardboard tube, available in numerous diameters, that is used to form cylindrical concrete columns. You can cut it to length with a saw, then cut some plywood end caps to fit inside. You can either nail it shut, or tape the heck out of it.
