Newbie with questions about Viper purchase..

Hello all! Im a newbie and going to be buying a Viper, hopefully next weekend. Im looking at the 96-97 blue,white GTS. I think all of the Vipers are tough, but I like the paint scheme on this model. My question is, with all of the different miles and prices, how much value does a rebuild title hurt these car's if proof can be shown on repairs and done professionally?

The engine will be less damaging than a body redo. I certainly would get the engine thoroughly checked by a real Viper Tech.

You can get a nice GTS without a salvage title for under 45k. My advice is hold off until you can do so. No need to buy a car that will be very difficult to resell.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry about putting this in the wrong forum Let me ask this then, what would a Salvage title, 8,000 miles Blue/White GTS be worth that looks as if it hasnt been touched. It had no frame damage. Hood was repaired, new front bumper cover, new computer?, good airbags, new front glass. Im trying to get a ideal on what is is worth because its going to be a driver for me. Thanks for the help.

Salvage is going to be a bare MINIMUM 20% price adjustment - most likely more.

Not for sure how it was repaired. Im assuming that it wasnt broken in pieces, just cracked. If the minimum is 20%, I guessing around $40, then?

Get the car checked by a professional, cannot repeat that enough.

Blue Streak...you may wish to consider the chi factor when looking at a car that's been brought back from the other side.

Don't buy a car with salvage title unless your going to keep it for at least 5 or 6 years! Your going to loose lots of money when you resell. Personally you have to love it and keep it.
