I have been having a hard time starting my 98 GTS. I will turn the key and start for 2-3 seconds and will not turn over. Then try again and it will usually turn over but starts off rough. This only happens when the car is sitting for over an hour. Doesnt happen running into a store or gas station for 5 minutes.
Any suggestions and will the cost of repair be covered under my extended warranty?
Thanks for your help.....

Sounds like maybe your fuel pressure isn't there? Bad fuel pump? If you have the extended warranty, it should cover it,

Before you start the car again, cycle the 3-4 times. If it starts right up, then your fuel pressure is bleeding down.

yep. sounds like a fuel pressure relay and/or a fuel pump, pressure regulator, or check valve (all part of "fuel pump assembly")

Yes, check your fuel pressure or at least listen for the pump noise when you turn the key to ON.
Then check your pump relay or just replace it (a new one is about $15 and it's good to carry a spare anyway).
It should be covered by your warranty.
I had a similar problem, turned out the fuel pump was going bad (and doing it very intermittently). Problem is it would never act up when I brought it in to a dealer so he couldn't (wouldn't) do anything. I finally bypassed the relay and then when it failed again we knew it had to be the pump.
