I'm getting ready to do a cat delete. Should the resonator come off too while I'm there? One post indicated the best sound was with a combination cat and resonator removal but quite a few here apparently just does the Cat delete only. It's a '98 RT with stock exhaust. Consensus?? BTW, Casper's o2 sims on the way..........

Hey Plumcrazy,

I see you did a **** delete and hiflow cats. How does it sound? You hear various comments on the different "sound quality" from a variety of combination mods to the exhaust, its hard to know what you want until you try them. Unfortunately, where I'm at, Vipers are rare or nonexistent so I don't have the luxury of being able to listen to other Vips already modified in the flesh. Just trying to get a consensus here. Also, I have seen in a post where it describes some elaborate coupling methods for the straight replacement pipe bought from Autozone using some specialized NAPA coupler, muffler patch compound and tin foil. But I don't see why a guy couldn't just simply cut out the cat and resonator, measure the required length, go down to your local muffler shop and have them cut and flare the pieces for you. Slip 'em on, use a couple of run-of-the-mill exhaust clamps and voila! :nana:
