Saleen For Sale Too?

This weeks Automotive News reports that Saleen Auto is for sale. It says that they've hired an investment bank (there's one left?) to sell the compnay by early next year. They go on to say that it could be a tough sell with Viper on the block at the same time.

I know that this gloom and doom is all to frequently reported but I'm really hoping that Viper can survive all this crap.


I think we should send a message to Ceberus. Let's select a day to all point our cars to the east, rev them up, and all, at exactly mid day - Detroit time, dump the clutch! Smoke , noise and fury unleashed!

I wouldnt worry, no one is going to buy the Viper, hopefully our US car makers can weather this storm and DC wont have to sell it.

Viper will just die after 09'. So will Saleen after the 09' Mustang run is complete. Have not even heard of Saleen retooling and redesigning for the new 2010 Mustang just unveiled.

There are going to be a lot of major changes taking place in 09'. Heartfelt wishes and prayers are not going to do it this time for the new car performance community. The US market needs to have the next big thing to hit the consumer. It is going to be a totally different automobile. George Jetson anyone? Me, I think it is going to be a major switch to Hydrogen infrastructure and they will probably take the opportunity to cram the Metric system down our throats too.

Its 40 years past due for metric. The rest of the world converted decades ago. To my knowledge only the US and some tiny 4th world island off the coast of africa still cling to an english system. GTS Bruce
