Dual Gauge Piller Pod

I'm having some fitment issues from the one I bought from sean roe. Am I supposed to trim the dash to make this fit? Anyone have any input.

We were trying to install it this weekend and it just wasn't fitting. Was curious to see if I'm just missing something obvious or not.

A friend of mine installed mine and I know he had to trim some plastic off the pods ends to get it to fit right...He said it was a lousy fitting peice...Al
