Where is the sensor that turns the radiator fan on when the car reaches operating temperature?

On a Gen 1 there are three temperature sensors screwed into the block or thermostat housing. The sensors are resistors or thermistors and change resistance with changing temperature. One is the feed for the temp guage, another for the red idiot light, and the third for the ECU. The ECU reads the signal and determines when or if the turn the fan on.

Gen 2 has the thermostat in a different location, I know. I think this gives you the answer, though.

Tom,the fan relay is not your friend anymore:D!

If you are chasing a fan issue, jump the fan at the plug and see if it indeed works, then go to the relay next, them go to the temp sensor!:2tu:

O.K
But where are these sensors located.
The fan is not turning on automatically.
We checked the fan and it is o.k.
