I was just looking at my 2 oil pans
One if from my original motor ('97/'00) and the other is from the used motor ('98) I just bought.

Dave,
the previous owner of my car added this baffle at some point - not sure if it was before or after Arrow rebuilt the motor.
The used motor I bought is just stock.

I'm not sure why you would do this on a street car, but I know it is popular on road racing cars to keep oil slosh under control so you keep consistent oil pressure.

Many people who drive these cars agressively will find oiling problems under prolonged hard braking and cornering. Generally the cornering forces during street use don't last long enough to cause starvation, but I can attest to the oiling issues under high-speed braking!!! <yikes>
