Hi,

I currently have $40K to purchase a Viper GTS. I’ll have more next year when I sell my Formula Mazda. I want a red car with white stripes. Unfortunately, those were only available in 2002 and out of my current price range. I’m therefore considering the purchase of a 1997, 1998 or 1999 red GTS and adding the stripes. Is there any downside to adding the stripes?

I live in Northern California. Is there someone you would recommend to add the stripes so that I can get a cost estimate? Here is a link to a 1997 that added the strips and it seems to look good to my untrained eye:

He also seems to have added a small splitter. Where would one look to find a splitter for the Viper?

Thanks

Thanks for the info. It's a tempting deal but I won't have the $40K until Mid-July. There are cars out here for about $40K but they all have about 30K miles so probally not the same level of condition. I will keep my eye on it.

Thanks

Use the search button on the top of the forums-works similar to google. Plug in splitters and you will get a bunch of threads. Jon B from PartsRack has splitters.
Then also at the top of the page here go to membership-it will list Viper clubs in CA and they may have someone(officers) to e-mail for information on the nearest auto place that does stripes.
(Always good to use someone who has done this on a Viper previously)
Good luck with finding a car and welcome!
