Calling all Vipers! Please!

I said I'd organize 2009's showing at the *** Rootbeer Drive-In, so here it is!

May 17th. *** Rootbeer Drive-In Spring Opener! This is the big one. :2tu:
*** Root Beer Home Page

The show starts at 8am but you need to show up around 6:45 to get a good parking spot in the middle of everything. I think the fee is about $15. That enters you into the car show to be judged, and gets you some type of goody bag (based on past experience). We'll plan to meet at the Krispy Kreme nearby and then head over together so that we can park together. If I can get an idea of the number attending I'll see if we can get something set aside(maybe, maybe not).

Please join me in attending this years show. Last year we had 3 or 4 cars. We were completely eclipsed by the LXForum's 30+ cars, that all showed up in an amazingly loud and cool caravan. Here's a link to a post on their forum, but the 2nd pic is my car. :)
Spring Roundup Pics - LX Forums Modern Mopar Muscle

I've attended the last two years and there are always some great cars to look at and nice people to talk to. I was particularly interested in a Ford GT last year but there's a little of everything. Plus, don't forget the Drive-In has GREAT food and the owners are really nice people.

This is our chance to get out and share our cars with other people who appreciate and enjoy them. The best part, for me at least, is letting other people see it and have some time in the seat for a picture or two. It really brightens up the faces of kids and parents alike.

The show tries to wrap everything up by 2 or 3pm. Bring sunscreen. Bring a chair. I'll bring a cooler with water and drinks plus maybe coffee and pastries for breakfast. Bring your cleaning supplies to get your car looking shiny and clean.

Show up!

I plan to be there. I will get up very early and drive over. It was a nice show last year and hopefully we can get a few more Vipers this year.

I checked out the LX forum and they also had my car in it. The LX group is a nice club and they drive some very nice cars too.

See you there.

So WHO will show? It's a fun day. Good food. Plenty of pretty cars. There's really no excuse to be doing anything else.

I'm a definite maybe! I'll wait until we get a little closer to the date - 12 days is a bit of a stretch for our local weather forecaster's - kinda like winning the lottery!

In the mean time, I'll finish cleaning up so I'm ready. :eater:

I'll be there in BLACK. :2tu:

Meet at 6:45 a.m. - Krispy Kreme parking lot, and caravan over at 7:00 a.m. like last year? :dunno:

And for anyone really far away that doesn't want to have get up at 4 or 5 a.m., there are special room rates at the new Hilton Garden Inn. Click on the show date from the TripleX homepage (link above). $93.00 for one night was the best I saw.

I'd have to get up early and leave here by 5:15//5:30 or so.:nono:

I normally run up 5, turn off on 18, and then take the turn off to Issaquah. Takes almost 1.5 hours. Is there a quicker way to go?:drive:

I'll wait to see if the weather is going to cooperate before I make a committment!

Brian-(2 R/T's) aren't you going to be busy loading that ship that came in this morning?

I have not been there before but to 1-90. I would take 5 12 & 167 and then the 18 FWY. I am close to 167 as well. we could meet off the 512 & 167. let's talk on Saturday.
should be fun!

Don't work Weekends Paul. No Barges or Ships, mostly Trucks and Railcars. Been real slow.

I've driven into Issaquah every possible way. Fastest from the south is to take 405 up to I-90. The 18/Hobart route adds about 10-15 minutes. There's also a narrow aluminum lever under the dashboard and attached to the floor that can help quicken the trip. :drive: Not that I'm advocating anything... :omg:

Forecast so far is for sun/clouds and 70 degrees. :fingersx:

And, I just noticed (while looking for the fingers crossed smilie) that this :slomo: YELLOW smilie, is titled "SloMo". Wonder why they would use that color? :poke:

The fastest route, at that time of the morning, is definitely I-5 to I-405 to I-90. I live about 3 miles up I-90 from Issaquah (in Bellevue), and recently made two early morning trips using this route to go from Bellevue to Hood Canal. I got to Hoodsport, about 15 miles past Shelton (all the way around Olympia), in 1.5 hours towing a trailer. :omg:

Of course, my Dodge Cummins is Black.... :lmao:
