I'd like to encourage the Viper community to share their technical knowledge by posting important threads that were previously posted elsewhere onto these public VCA forums for the benefit of all Viper owners. This will start the process of bringing back to life reference quality threads where the thread starters and other posters contributed thousands of hours for everyone's benefit. New questions and contributions can be posted here, and this forum's "Search" function works very well.

This is one such invaluable thread where the thread starter, and those who subsequently carried the torch, volunteered and contributed a staggering amount of time. We can't thank them enough.

The TA Thread contains vehicle information, discusses differences between 2014-2017 TA "Package" vs TA "Group" equipped cars, TA 1.0 and 2.0 models, other models that received the TA treatment, and production information for them all! Like most threads, it does contain some incorrect info that gets corrected. You can find the latest production numbers and information in this linked thread's post #1637 on page 66 where Bryan Savage completes the record. Thank you Bryan!

Enjoy!

Been awhile since I came on a form - Looks like that thread is lost?

I hope not. Lots of great information and history in there.

I assume you can probably still dig for it at their new forum location if you really need something from it. Disclaimer though, their new forum is highly unusable and appears to be completely dead at this point following their amazing idea to first make it paid only. They eventually shut down the old one while doing a terrible job of migrating the content. The new location is https://driveviper.com/forums-landing/

I will say that while the old site was still up, I did recursively download a majority of the forum before they took it offline in case I ever needed to look up information for something. I say that to say, if there's something you're looking for it's possible that I may have it in the files.

EDIT: This appears to be the location of that old TA thread, which took forever to load and didn't format correctly for me when it did load: https://driveviper.com/forums/topic/ta-thread/

Sad, but true. The fact that the place became a Gen 5 reacharound makes it all the more inexcusable and those responsible should be flogged in public. Maintaining the Technical Forums is worthy of Viperdom's highest efforts.

There are some actions that are so obviously horribly destructive that they defy belief that they could have been made.

We're fortunate that these forums continue. It's sad that the demise of the other forums has hastened users to shift to Facebook for technical discussions, perhaps unaware that these excellent forums still exist as a superior platform for searchable information.

Unfortunately, the shift to Facebook has cost the community some of its most knowledgeable contributors. Forums were Viper Nations most valuable resource, and what attracted so many to participate as enthusiasts and as club members, contributing for the benefit of all for years.

We're fortunate that these viperclub.org forums still exist, and I hope we'll see them become increasingly more fully utilized.
