    Looking for some help

Make sure it isn't a simple clutch pedal linkage disconnect. Had that happen on my '94 recently. Pedal went to the floor. The linkage above the pedal had popped off at the ball joint. Easy to just align and pop back on.

Massive 579-item Viper Collection for Sale

Offered is a massive 579-item Viper collection, collected over 23 years. Before my daily-driver Viper, I had other unique and rather rare cars, including the first 1967 Porsche 912 Targa in the US, a 1979 deTomasso Mangusta, and a 1987 Porsche 928. As a Navy, and then an airline pilot traveling...

    Alarm set light/does not start

I called Steve-Indy and he gave me the 2-step procedure to clear my locked alarm module. Worked perfectly. Three honks and I'm back to normal. So don't fight a Gen-I with an "Alarm set" light stuck on. Get in touch with Steve-Indy, Chuck "Wizard" Tater, me, or someone else that knows Vipers and...

    Alarm set light/does not start

Here's another "me too". I have a '94 that is my daily driver. A few weeks ago the alarm fob stopped working but I just opened my own doors and kept driving. Then I took the car apart, including disconnecting the battery, to install and wire a new sound system. When I hooked the battery back up...

    Gen I Radio Upgrade

Happy Birthday America. Update on Gen I radio upgrade progress: I hooked up the JVC Head Unit to the OEM Alpine trunk amps by connecting the yellow and blue RCA jacks to the JVC Sub Woffer Pre-amp jacks, and the red and white RCA jacks to the JVC Front L&R jacks. I jumped 12v battery from the...

    Gen I Radio Upgrade

Questions: I am installing a new radio head unit and speakers in a '94 Gen-I and have these two questions, then I'll give you the rest of the story: 1. What is the RMS power output of the Gen I OEM trunk amps? 2. What gets connected to the console 8-pin DIN plug brown and black wires? The rest...

    Gen I Radio Upgrade

Thanks Jdeft. I also heard from a friend on the San Diego board and via email. I'm inclined now to go DIY but need to decide about the center speakers - OEM sub woofers. Is it better to replace them with new sub woofers like 2 Kicker 10CVT654, trying first with the OEM amp...

    Gen I Radio Upgrade

Drivers, In the glow of the new Gen V, my daily driver '94 RT/10 with 50,000 miles on it is not keeping up. One fix would probably cost $100,000, and I'm considering it, but I would still keep the Gen I, so I've decided to fix the only thing that has always bothered me - the OEM radio. I'm...

Does your snake have a lowered seat?

I'm 6'4" and have had the same positive experience with the 1" adjustable kit. Improved view through the windshield, better wind protection with the top off my 94 RT/10, and room for a helmit with the hardtop on. I painted the kit flat black before installing because I didn't like the chrome...

    Recommended Battery for "94

Re: Recommended Battery for By coincidence, I had my '94 battery fail on the way to a San Diego Viper slither on Friday. After being invited to the side of the freeway by a motorcycle cop (another story, but he let me go), when I got back in and tried to restart, the car was absolutely dead. A...

'95 Seat Shells Available - Rusty, but Free

\'95 Seat Shells Available - Rusty, but Free I bought two 1995 "Rough but good leather" seats for their upholstered cushions. I needed a replacement back because one of my bolsters was chaffed. The back cushion was what I needed, but the seat shells metal parts turned out to be quite rusty, and...

Removing and Installing Gen I Seat Backs

This is an illustrated How-To summary using the best of previous posts and my recent experience. The seat back is attached with a thick wire around the edge that goes under 5 clips in the seat rear shell. I recommend that you do NOT FORCE the seat back sideways to get the...
