    VPA Announcement

Chuck, I know what you are looking for. The silver bolts that are used on the intake manifold and valve covers. I never found any of those at VPA.

    VPA Announcement

Well this may explain why I have had no communication. I never officially resigned but it does appear that I was removed a few years ago. Thanks for the links.

Best way to get a Viper inspected pre-purchase

I would recommend someone that knows Vipers. I have flown around the nation and driven for hours to inspect Vipers. With that said, I have done too many POST inspections after the purchase to find a number of issues. A while back I “POST inspected” a so called perfect 1998 Viper. After the...

    VPA Announcement

Viper Parts of America, Please be advised that as of Friday, May 15th 2015, I am resigning my position as a Board of Director for Viper Parts of America (VPA). I have had no communication from the VPA board since December of 2013.Everything I have learned about the VPA since then is through...

    Head gaskets

I had two Vipers with no external leaks. The engine block was clean. The leaks were from the water jacket to the piston = Blowing white smoke at random. Pressure test of the coolant system and cylinders showed no problems. We knew there was a leak based on smoke. So…. you will either see...

    Head gaskets

All good information here. Pictures give a feel for how much work the project is. FYI:The dealer quote was $3,100 parts and labor. You can see from the pictures the hard line for the fuel. Also you can see the thermostat housing that is under the intake manifold near the windshield. These heads...

    overheating again!

If I had to guess, he is saying he did not have any cabin heat for the past few months but the car never overheated. The temperature gauge was erratic going up and down. The car overheats when he gets on it (heavy load). If this is the case and I guessed correctly, I say there is still air in...

    GTS Checklist

This is a good list for someone shopping. I would use a scale....1 to 10 for each item. On the Gen2 Vipers you really need to watch for oil leaks: -Oil Pan gasket or actual oil pan seepage=Porous aluminum. -Rear main seal leak -Front engine cover (could also be antifreeze leak at this...

    2010 Valve Stems

Nothing changed. In fact, I have to use the old DRB3 scan tool from the Gen3 to reprogram the TPMS sensors in the tires running on the Gen4. I guess what I am saying is that internally, they are the same as what you had. Does your pump work on other cars?

    Key doesn't work

Correct you are. The second keyfob could very well already be programmed but out of Syncronization. The Viper uses a rolling code security system. The fob and DEI door entry module increment together. So replacing the battery might not fix. First thing you do is hold both the buttons down and...

    Oil sending unit leaking.

I sprayed the wiring with contact cleaner(to get the oil off of it), replaced the sending unit and it was all fixed.

    Oil sending unit leaking.

Mine did the same thing. Oil coming out of the wiring side.

    Key doesn't work

If you hold both buttons down, does it chirp?
