    Removing Cats on 2000 ACR

I have a 2001 ACR. If you want loud and a beautiful sounding exhaust tone, forget the straight pipes. At purchase, mine had 3" Belanger cat back exhaust and straight pipes. I loved the sound, but not the stink nor polluting the air in my garage. Plus, it is located under two bedrooms, so...

    The Viper Search

It took me about a month to get my wife onboard with the idea of buying a Viper. We preferred the original styling, so I limited my search to Gen1 and Gen2 Vipers. During this time, I did some fairly in depth research to determine the changes and improvements made for each model year. This...

    WTB: 2001 or 2002 GTS

In case you are not all that savvy with browsers, I should have mentioned that checking 10 sites daily is quite easy to do. You just open a separate tab for each site and click the refresh for each tab each day or evening before doing your check. BTW, I never thought to check Craig's List, but...

    WTB: 2001 or 2002 GTS

Danny, When I was shopping for a Viper, I checked up to 10 sites daily. Most sellers advertise on multiple, but I didn't want to miss the car that might be posted to just one site. So, I checked Cars.com, Autotrader.com, Carfax.com, Cargurus.com, Carsforsale.com, ISeeCars.com, TrueCars.com...

    GTS vs ACR

Two years ago, I bought a 2001 ACR with the Dynamic Suspension adjustable coil overs. The owner had recently installed a new set, because the originals were leaking (27k miles). More on that later. I had researched Gen2 Viper issues and the ACR pretty thoroughly beforehand, so knew I'd want to...

First Time Gen II GTS Buyer - Need Advice

Sounds like you decided to keep looking. Good decision I believe. It would be a lot of work and expense to return that car to stock form. Many potential Viper owners might like those mods (wing, internal engine mods, short throw shifter, lowered suspension, 8 point harness) if they were going...

Help with Codes on 1997 Viper GTS

BTW, typically, these come from Taiwan, Hong Kong or the mainland PRC, so don't load the software. It is infected with various viruses and you don't need it--there are many nice Addroid ODBII apps to choose from.

Help with Codes on 1997 Viper GTS

Online, I found a mini ODB II unit with USB. You can leave it plugged in, as it has on/off switch. These are compatible with various Android apps and cost around $18.

Motor Mounts - Where to buy

Before getting my new tires installed on my new to me 2001 GTS/ACR with 28K miles, I asked my mechanic, a fellow Gen2 Viper owner, to thoroughly check over the suspension. Lemon Squad does a visual check and test drive, so I still needed a thorough mechanical check. My Viper had only 28K miles...

    Belanger Exhaust

For sure, it would be useless for side exhaust.

    Belanger Exhaust

When I purchased my 2001 GTS/ACR almost two years ago, it still had the factory SS headers, but the cats had been replaced by straight pipes. A 3" Belanger cat back exhaust finished the system. Outside, I loved the sound, but inside it was a tad loud and the drone was hard to bear. Called JonB...

    Viper pricing

Presently, I believe the majority of Viper buyers are choosing a Viper due to their passion for the car, a collectable they will drive. This drives preferences (pun intended). When Vipers start to become too valuable to drive, like the Cobra and to a lesser extent the Shelby are now, the buyer...

Inner Tie Rods - 3 of 4 need replacement at 28K miles

Thanks for the reply. Certainly, makes a ton of sense. BestPartsOnline wants $20 ea for front inner tie rods, but doesn't offer the rears. JonB want $195 for rear inner tie rods and I didn't see any fronts on his site for a Gen2 GTS. For $20, I will probably buy them and check them out. If...

Inner Tie Rods - 3 of 4 need replacement at 28K miles

Is it anywhere near normal to need to replace of 3 of 4 inner tie rods at 28K miles? Obviously, I plan to replace all four, but was curious if I should suspect an odometer turn back. I've put only the last 800 miles on the car, so I have a short history with it. Anyone tried the inner tie rods...
