It actually spays very thin, just like spray paint. You made me curious so I took my test piece that I sprayed last week ( 4 x 4 inch tile) and peeled the plasti dip. I used a micrometer and it is roughly .005"
I bought 4 cans of the anthracite grey and 1 can of Glossifier. Figure about 1 can per wheel. I did 4 coats of the grey, and 1 wet coat of gloss plastidip. I have about half a can of grey left.
Black and White can be purchased locally like a Home Depot or Lowes. The custom colors can only...
I used a gun metal grey color plastidip on my Dodge Journey wheels last year. It was my first time using plastidip. It held up extremely well through this past winter and multiple car washes.

Decided to change the look of the wheels for now. I used anthracite grey, it has a slight metallic finish compared to the original plastidip colors. I sprayed the side emblems the same color to match.
