    When I had this issue it was the security system. The security system in a Gen 1 isn't a hard cutoff, it lets it run for a few seconds and then shuts off. I had to replace the control module, and it was fine after that.

    Ended up attaching a paper towel roll tube to the end of my shop vac. The cardboard tube was stiff enough to hold its shape, yet pliable enough to get in between the manifold pipes. She's all clean now, and will get a checkup at the mechanic to make sure no rubber was nibbled.

    Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like X2 has worked out their kinks to the point of being viable so I will give them a try. Is your upper close comfortably clear of the hinge? Did your original fan work?

    Gen 1 Alarm Problem.

    Mine was acting up like this, eventually it would refuse to start even after unlocking with the FOB. Ended up needing a new control unit, that was 10 years ago and haven't had a problem since.

    The R888s are for dry warm weather only. While they do just qualify as street legal, they are designed to be a track tire. That said, I am running them because I only drive my car on warm dry days.

    Alright so I unfortunately find myself in need of a new radiator for my Gen 1. Reading through this whole thread, it seems like no one is really happy with their X2, aluminum replacements are expensive and have their own issues... I also don't know of any good radiator shops around here...

    *********. I just bought the Toyos because they were the closest thing to a street tire that TireRack listed for Gen 2 18" Vipers. Would have much rather had the BFG Rivals for the same money.
