What is the True Spec Weight of the Comp Coupe?
The spec weight is just above 3000 lbs. My car use to come in at 3006 lbs. The VRL weight of 3,150 lbs includes the driver.- SamC

My recommendation... If you have the car now, drive up to Pahrump Nevada this weekend for Viperdays. Have John Archer install the lowering springs and Moton shocks. Rent a hard top from Skip and learn how to drive the car well at speed on the track. If you don't have the car yet, do the same...- SamC

Body Panels Removal
Hey Newt, I took all of my panels off my CC with a friend. Took around 6 hours. We were being careful. Assembly was around 12 hours but we spent most of that time shimming the pieces carefully. If your going to do any kind of stripes, mock-up the stripes before taking off any panels...- SamC

SoCal Craig, Call JonB at PartRack. He will quote you a great deal and save you the sales tax. He will recommend the installation at Unitrax. They are located in Anaheim. They did a great job on my car.- SamC

Newport Viper: Unitrax took the whole day but they also changed the half shafts. They put a racing diff fluid with added limited slip fluid to handle the higher temps at the race track. The car ran great right off the lift without any problems.- SamC

Just did JonB's 3.55 swap yesterday. Unitrax in Anaheim did the work and installed their new light weight half shafts at the same time. The gear swap is worth it and only cost around $1000. The car really moves now. I feel much better with the stronger half shafts and trimmed 12 lbs of...- SamC

Paint code for steel grey?
I don't know whether the manufacturer codes include both colors and the clear. I suspect they do. I just had my slightly dented and yellowed side sills fixed and painted. Paint code for steel grey?
If you are referring to the color from the 2000 year, it is known as Viper VS6. Mopar also uses the code PS6. Either code will work. If you need the equivalent code for a specific paint manufacturer, I also have those. They are found in the service manual. As an aside, the paint code is...- SamC
