    Calling all sapphire bules

Hi Everyone. Here 's a pic of my Viper taken yesterday. I'm the original owner and live in the Chicago burbs.

    2001 GTS Water Pump Replacement

You connect the RADKITPLUS to the mouth of the pressurized recovery tank. It has various rubber adapters and attaches by expanding to make a tight fit as you turn a compression fitting to snug it up. First you create the vacuum and shut your compressor off. Then you use another part of the...

    2001 GTS Water Pump Replacement

I would agree that removing the gasket from the face of the timing cover where the water pump mounts was the worst part of this process. It's hard to get your hands and tools into that space. I used a gasket removal chemical, but it still is a pain.

    2001 GTS Water Pump Replacement

Water Pump replacement is all done. The Snapon Radkitplus works great on the Viper. It creates a vacuum in the cooling system and then allows you to replace the vacuum with coolant, eliminating air pockets and the need to burp the cooling system. All, I had to do was run the engine through a few...

    Belanger Heat Shields

I have Belanger headers on my 2001 GTS and I use Inconel heat shields from DC Performance. They fit and work great with the Belanger headers, plus they look cool too. DC Performance: Proven Performance

    amplifier power connection to battery

I have some aftermarket amps in my 2001 GTS that are powered directly off of the battery terminal. I have had no issues. You should make sure that there is a circuit breaker added as well.

    2001 GTS Water Pump Replacement

It's been a few weeks since I started this project, but the end is in sight. I have the new pump installed and a new set of radiator hoses. I flushed the overflow bottle using a cool vacuum pump that I got a while ago from Griot's garage. I think you can get from a few other places too, but it...

    2001 GTS Water Pump Replacement

Hi Guys. Well, my 2001 GTS gave up its water pump at the end of last year. I was experiencing fluctuating temps, and noticed that the temp gage would read higher than normal. The temp gage never got anywhere near being too hot, I just noticed that it was fluctuating more than normal. I also did...

IL to outlaw cat back exhausts...

Guys, I wrote my State Senator and Senator Clayborne to inform them of my displeasure with this ridiculous piece of legislation. I urge all Illinois Viper owners and fellow car enthusiasts to write also. If this bill passes the Illinois state Senate and becomes law, it could easily happen every...

    torque spec for belanger headers

I just finished my Belanger install on my 2001 GTS. I also ordered a set of the Dodge factory Exhaust Manifold Gaskets. They are made out of Metal instead of the fiber/Paper Belanger Gaskets. You can order them from any Dodge dealer for about $22.00 each. I also torqued mine to the factory...

Belanger Headers and Exhaust Install Completed

Yes, I agree it's not for the timid. I think it's just the way a Viper Should Sound. If you use the car for daily use I wouldn't put headers on it to begin with. But If you use the car for fun and want to let the engine breath and put a foundation in for future mods I say " Go for It" Scott

Belanger Headers and Exhaust Install Completed

You are looking at around $3,300.00 or so. I wouldn't say it's really loud, but it is certainly not for those who don't want to be heard coming down the road. Sitting inside the car it sounds about as loud as when I just had my Borla Catback on the car. Outside of the car I can definitely hear...
