Viper vs GTR and ZO6

It is no secret SRT have been playing with a blown V10. Whether it goes further one can only hope. One thing is for sure, if it makes 800hp it is going to make a lot more than 650ft/lb unless peak TQ is nanny managed down for trans warranty reasons. lol. Good point. Personally price was never a gripe for me. I think value comes down to what it is worth to you compared to what else you can get for the money. I guess some think I am a troll as I've not bought one yet, but I am a serious looker and have been a fan since the GTS in 96. Your post is excellent and actually has helped sway me somewhat as I have seriously been considering a C7 ZO6. I'd really like to think that SRT have the quality down...- Torquemonster

I'm glad the Viper has a stick shift, but it should be an option not the only choice. I'm with FF-B/W-GTS, a high tech super quick shifting trans (DCT or otherwise) is going to make the car quicker in all events that involve shifting and appeal to a wider audience. Possible 2016 Supercharged
Love the idea of a blown Viper. Prefer twin turbos of course, but some boost is better than no boost. I hope a OEM supercharged Viper will go centrifugal like the latest Procharger (which can be clutched). I agree with you. I really wanted an SRT8. I liked the sound, the look, the trim in the new ones, and the performance. Then I drove an AMG ML63. This man knows his $hit I also agree that 2016 looks to be exciting for Viper, I do not see it going away just yet. Nothing wrong with the shape, but it needs new trans technology and Hellcat topping power to be top dog.- Torquemonster

Hopefully the response is #1. That engine could support 800hp NA with some shortened service intervals and a limited warranty. 800hp NA would be quite useable. Mercedes AMG has a 2 year global warranty - it covers defects in manufacture no matter where the car was bought and in what country...- Torquemonster

Challenger Hellcat gets 707HP!
Not sure where you are going with this. Have you actually driven or been in a twin turbo Viper? Not exactly Honda horsepower, more like King Kong in a frenzy and trying to kill you. Turbos properly sized come in later but quicker than a blower. That means a FATTER power curve not a peaky...- Torquemonster
