What if Speed Bleeders came with brakes?

I like ab's idea of a package deal (his being plug wires that come with spark plugs.)

Comments on offering Speed Bleeders with 40mm brake calipers? Or as option?

Can you explain to us uneducated what a speed bleeder is? All i know is the old school pump pump pump, hold, release and hold, tighten pump pump pump etc etc

Sure. The "release" and "tighten" part of bleeding are done for you by a small check valve inside the bleeder screw. One person pumping on the pedal is all that is needed.

The bleeding is done with the Speed Bleeder 1/4 turn open. When you close and tighten it, it is as "closed" and secure as a normal bleeder screw since the check valve parts are downstream of the actual bleed hole.

I think the speed bleeders are a great idea. Do you have them already? If so count me in on some for my order. WAHOO i'm excited about the 40mm kit, thanks Tom! An extra thanks for letting me borrow your spring compressor :2tu:

Great idea Tom.

I just installed these on all four calipers when I put on front rotors and pads. Their worth every penny as they make bleeding or flushing a very easy, one man operation. I also used the IV bag, not required, but sure made the job easier (although you could just use a tube and bleed into an empty bottle).

I was able to flush my brake fluid by myself in not much more time then it would take you to remove/replace the rims.

Highly recommended, and an inexpensive upgrade!

I had them and took them off, I never was comfortable with them.
I went to the power bleeder instead.

Andrew, why not? The moving parts are past the fluid shut-off point and it closes off the brake fluid just like a normal bleeder.

Tom, I think the Speedbleeders are a great idea but not everyone likes them. I personally love them and use on both Vipers. They are cheap, no mess, and have worked flawlessly for me. The only thing is that if you are bleeding quite frequently, you'll need to get some extra thread sealer as this stuff does wear off and will render the bleeder useless. BTW, I'm just LOVING the 40mm upgrade!!! One of the best investments yet for my GTS.

do i find these on that site listed above?...with that part # you listed?...also are you running the stainless steal or the regular?...i think i will order these, i want to bleed my breaks and these look easy to install and use!!!

Yes, this is the part number listed on the site above. I am using just the regular $7.00 ones, not the $15.00 stainless ones. I don't feel stainless is necessary, but that's just me. Whichever you get, you will be glad you did. They are awesome!

Even after buying a speacial size for the 6 piston Baer up front, I could never get them to stop leaking. So I just pulled them off all corners.
